The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I'm sorry to hear that. I had a dog do that once. He belonged to me and moved out shortly afterwards.

Yeah, I requested to go part time today. My husband is in shock:') It's really cool though, Reba. Type in my name. My business comes up. I have had about a half dozen people call me. Being the trusting person that I am, I thought at first it was the department of health checking up on me because even though they have certified me I can't do anything until the workforce does too. It's just people looking for training though.

Yeah, just like a greenhorn:)

Hey, I've sat down several times today to tell you, I took my English saddle over to an English riding stable. It's a new place I didn't even know it was there. But 3 people have told me to take it there so I figured with 3 people telling me I might have a chance. Any way this place is huge, very fancy, VERY rich looking. I went in the barn several people were standing around and one girl asked if she could help me. I asked if she worked there and she said yes. I told her I had an English saddle for sale and that several people told me to bring it here, that someone might be interested. She asked if I had it with me and I did, so we started walking to the truck and she said she wanted to check what kind it was. I said Oh, it's a Wintec. She stopped said no one would be interested in THAT, and turned and walk off. LOL....I was amused actually. Just didn't surprise me with the surroundings.

But my neighbor that tried it awhile back, showed up here this evening asked if I still had it, and said in 2 weeks she would be able to pay for it. She really wants it, so we'll see.

Oh brother, Becky, I'm glad that you have a sense of humor. I assure you that we're not all jerks like that! Though I have met my fair share. :-p I would have looked at your Wintec! :-)

And I suppose they use shipping wraps instead of shipping boots too... Did I ever tell you guys that story? The woman that owned the big expensive warmblood that was forever going to the trainers because she was too afraid to ride him?

Well that attitude really ticks me off... as if even if you did compete at upper levels where you'd want the really primo stuff, that no one would ever have use for a casual all purpose saddle... Use it when riding in the flippin rain or something.... jeepers.

Thanks Beaker.:). I know you all aren't like that, meaning all English riders. I'm sure there are a fair share of snotty western people.

This place SMELLED snotty. I was prepared:)

You know that's what I was thinking. I knew driving up to this place it was very very upper class (best way I can describe it). But I thought well maybe someone would want to keep their expensive stuff nice and clean and would need an everyday, beat around saddle. Guess not:)
