Stay safe there. I'm off to bed (after I clean the kitchen).
Night
Frosty here.
Good Morning to you too. It's rainy here, but a good kinda rainy. Not stormy. It's 60-some-odd degrees and is supposed to get up into the upper 70s, so I can't complain.
You will do fine.
Are you gonna be up and running the business this summer?
How's the tooth this morning?
Everybody was talking about what kind of items that should be carried on a trail ride. Here's the Byrd Harp compared to a high-end Gerber multitool.
The design is unique, the cost is one-sixth of the Gerber, and some of the tools almost make sense. I have doubts about the awl, gimlet, and what appears to be some kind of small, strange hammer.
The really redeeming part of this Chinese-made gadget is I got two of them free, thrown in with some other equipment I purchased for the troops.
And I'm passing the savings on to the Saddle Club. The first two people who freepmail me get them (and why someone would want one is beyond me). I'll now sit back, and try to answer that great question, what were they thinking when they made this?
Gee winmag, with a sales pitch like that... You're sure to get lots of takers... :~D
Is the small strange hammer perhaps supposed to be a window breaker? My dad got me a little escape hammer for my truck that's supposed to break out a window if I find myself underwater... and can find the hammer faster than rolling down the window.
It is a strange looking little gadget isn't it. But I've been known to buy stranger things. I've actually got one of those limb cutter things that's made of what looks to be a length of chain saw chain with rings on each end that attach to two lengths of rope with attachable T-handles. There's a little plumb-bob looking weight thingie on one end of the rope that you use to throw the rope up over the branch of your choice. Then you use the rope to haul the chain part up there, attach the T-handles to both ends of the rope and saw away. That's the theory anyways. I've never actually used it, but when I saw it, I had to have one. My husband says I'm a sucker for a gadget.
I have no idea. Glass-breakers usually have a small point on them. I have a wide assortment of gadgets (of course) to break car windows. Personally, I have a Camillus BK3 tucked between the driver's seat and the console. I can cut, saw, pry, and smash with this:
LOL! I got something like that too. It's a spring-loaded little dealie called an automatic center punch and it looks like this...
I don't know why I bought it. I'm like you, I'm not real sure that if I'm under water in the dark that I'm gonna be able to find it. But electric windows don't work real well in water so I'm sure I'd be real motivated to be looking. ;o)
WOO HOO!! So he wasn't gimpy at all??
Such good news! So glad for you, and him.
The awl and/or the gimlet would be great to have on the trail. You would be able to punch holes in leather to repair broken tack until you could get home or to the trailer. Neat tool, although I have no idea what you might use the little hammer thing for.
He looks great. Why are you kicking him in the nose? Just joking :)
Not the least bit gimpy. As a matter of fact, he picked up both leads very easily, something he's had trouble doing the last couple of years. He was probably in pain all that time.
