The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Morning!!! My computer is playing me for a fool!! It has been doing it for a month! I downloaded Norton Internet Security (different from Norton Antivirus) to see if that would help, but so far it hasn't. It tries to tell me that it cannot find my wireless web. When it DOES manage to find it, it will not stay connected for more than a few minutes. I have no idea what is wrong with it.

I had a problem a couple of years ago with my old computer and my modem. Apparently on of the camera programs installed on it messed up the drivers - at least that's what my computer guys told me after working on it.

It's not too cold, but cloudy and windy. I have to do some cleaning and laundry today also. Cats are out of food too, and they are not too happy. So, I better get to the store soon.

Cats get positively violent when they are out of food. Mine start looking at me like I might be their next meal.

Busy day. I worked Harley this morning, then we had a good old fashioned thunderstorm. Great rumbling thunder. Now the sun is shining, and it's been a beautiful day, albeit a little humid. Jenny, Tucker and I went to watch Kristy run in a barrel race. Where it was held was at a privately owned indoor arena, very nice place so I took some pictures.

I didn't get many pictures in the barn, too dark, but is is Kristy on the first barrel.

This place boards horses too, this is the horse barn.

This is the outside of the arena we were in.

This is the main house.

This is the hired helps house:)

I have a few more just loaded 5 at a time.

I liked this pillars at the end of the drive.

This is looking down the drive from where the pillars are.

The owners actually own the entire mile section this place sits on, and the house and building are in the very middle, surrounded by pastures. Looks like it's mostly cows now, but years ago when we first started going to this place the lady that owned it raised Hanovarian Warmbloods. Those are some big horses. Any way this is what the place looks like from the road.

And this is back at the kids, and this is Belle, Dot, and Travis' horse Brinks.

Terrific beautiful place!

What happens when you knock the barrel over, is it a time penalty?

Depends on where you're at. Today, a knocked barrel was a no time at all, sometimes it's a 5 second penalty for each barrel knocked down.

She had a very good time, the fastest of the day, IF she hadn't knocked down the barrel:(. It's such a small pattern she just had trouble getting him moved over enough.

Oh, man. It's done! My application is ready to mail Monday, No lie, it is at least 2 packages of computer paper. It'nuts. I've opened 2 schools before as non profits. Since it is now a "business" I have to register thru the TWF and pay a gulp size processing fee.

I cleaned my office up yesterday.I had snow in here. I ball up paper when I'm throwing it away so I don't get it mixed up with important stuff and toss somewhere near the trash can. It was getting deep:')
