The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I know they diagnosed the cat with an obstruction but with 3 animals gone maybe you should give the goat to your vet.

The lovebird died of old age I think. Their life span is 6-8yrs as I understand, and she was 10+yrs old. She wasn't ill at all so I don't know for sure.

My cat got a string impaction that harmed her bowels.

So - if everyone is hurting ribs right now, maybe you ought to be careful. I'm sorry to hear she got thrown though. Is it a young horse or just a bad day?

Thanks.

Boy Harley looks like two different horses, clean and then muddy doesn't he? He is such a good looking horse.

I try to always be careful. It's just that 3 thing:') 3 people hurt their back. Now 2 rib injuries. Wait . Johnny my BIL makes it 3. She said it was one of her younger ones that hadn't been rode in 6 months. I don't know the details.

No, she wasn't too old, about 5yrs. I'm going to talk to my daughter-in-law tonight when they get home from work to see what they think. I went out and checked and it was my girl that died and that's fortunate in a way.

The other girl belongs to my son's younger half-brother. She and he were in the Orange County Parade together. My ex lives in town in CA and has no place to keep a goat. Well, he wouldn't, even if he did :)

Bob and I both checked the feed and their pen/run and house and don't see anything that would have caused it. I guess I'll wait and see what the kids say.

Well, when you have kids involved in animal rescue, vet clinics, and shows you just end up with all sorts of things.

One goat is the last of the kids' goat herd. They used to raise and show Alpines. The other was her daughter. The llama is a miniature llama that was too tall to be shown as a miniature so he needed someone to save him from the auction yard.

The love birds were rescues about 10 years ago, the two ball pythons are rescues, I had two Bearded Dragon Lizards that were rescues but they died of old age last summer. Also had a rescue Iguana but found a home for him. And one of the two cats left indoors is a rescue, as are both of the MinPins.

Yes, I remember when you posted that picture. He does clean up nice, doesn't he? He's pretty good looking even muddy though.

It makes sense, she doesn't sound like someone who gets thrown often so I thought maybe it was a young one or a new one.

Check out the avocados from Shwan. They are spicy but you just thaw and squeeze and instant guacomole.
