The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

It's a lovely fountain, Becky.

You can never have too many....even though they make you wanna pee if you sit and listen to them too long. ;-)

LOL.

This is the only fountain I have:). Is what I need to stop, is spending:). I have to pay for my new saddle, a weed eater, grass seed and fertilizer, AND a trip to Washington by July:\

Oh! Can't help ya with the spending thing. I'm trying to learm how to control my impulse to buy stuff for my girls every time I go anywhere. ;-)

But definitely rank that trip at the top, chica! I'd love to meet you and maybe even go riding if I can get my hands on a loaner somewhere.

They'd live if it's bigger than a fish bowl ;~D

Goldfish are dirty fish, you probably don't need the extra headaches of more critters to clean up after :~D

Someday I want to have an outdoor fish pond.

I'm still pretty sure I can make it:). For sure next summer, it's getting there in July that will be the trick:) But since Hair says that's the best time, I'd like to make it then.

Oh, well you're right about that. Heck I was trying to find out how bad the algae is going to be in it. If there is something I can put in the water to keep it clear, I don't know if a bit of bleach would mess up the pump.

There's algea controlling stuff for fishtanks and ponds that have pumps... maybe that stuff would be good, if it ends up being needed.

hehehehe....I'll admit that I won't be ready to keep up with you and Becky until I've had a bit more riding experience. OK, OK...a ~lot~ more.

I don't want to have you guys looking over your shoulders constantly to check on the newbie instead of just enjoying your ride. ;-)

But I'll catch up to you two eventually!

*still thinking about that mare I posted earlier*

I'm wondering since it's such a small fountain, if the water won't evaporate so fast that it won't have much time to get cloudy. I'll probably have to add water every day to it.

June wasn't too bad when I went up, but Hair's since told me it was luck that it didn't rain. ;-)

Well, I know I couldn't make it "before" July anyway. It just might have to be Aug. I have to get the weed eater and seed in the spring. That can't wait.

The saddle is what threw my budget into a tailspin, but I'm hoping to sell my english saddle or Belle, or both.

The ad said Spanaway, WA.

*fingers crossed for a quick and profitable sale on both the saddle and (to a good home of course!) Belle*

My thinking is it's nice in June, but there can still be mud on the darker damper trails... July's about perfect, cuz it's nice and not as dry as August :~D

It's hard to imagine a dry and dusty trail in Western Washington. :-D

I'm still 99% sure I can swing it. The sale of something would just help:)
