The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I got tired of sitting around the apartment this afternoon so I took at trip. I hadn't been down 150 since I have been here so I decided to go 150 east from New Waverly and see where it goes. I saw a sign for Livingston, doesn't someone here live there? Next week I am going to go 150 west, even though it's not on my map, but my map is old, it may be a new road. I didn't know what else to do today, I was bored.

He's finding some good bugs in that tree I think... He was at it still till I skeered him away by getting too close. Look how much damage he's done just today compared to earlier!

Guys are hard to figure out. Mine lost interest too. I got tired of doing everything twice and was going to sell Okie. Then it was, "Hey, that's my horse. Don't sell my horse" Now he's in the saddle again:')

Well I'm off to South Padre Island. We are going to go eat fish and stop by Walmart. I'm trying to finish up a dish collection that Walmart is discontinuing,

Ouch! That tree's going to come down, one way or the other.

It would be nice for it to come down where you want it to . . .

That is a nice looking horse. It looks like you do cross country. Do you compete?

Thanks. She's a good mare, and we do a little combined training competition. We get busted in dressage, but we usually make it up on cross country and stadium jumping. She's a splendid natural jumper who can both rate herself and respond to rating from her rider. She could be faster (despite her racing blood (War Admiral and Northern Dancer) she couldn't catch cold if you spotted her three furlongs), but on course she gets a little excited and she's just about right.

LOL I don't blame her. Who wants to run around a track anyway when you can run over hills and jump fences? LOL. It's no wonder she looks so good with those thoroughbreds in her pedigree.

I had a shot about 10 years ago to go to a three day event farm where they taught you how to ride in those disciplines. It was in Santa Rosa, California. I should have went there instead of the farm in Sacramento. Now I am in Texas LOL.

Good heavens:), he's and industrious thing isn't he:)

We just got back from WalMart, sigh, I couldn't resist getting this fountain. I've been waiting a year to get it. I saw it last year, but by the time I decided I really wanted it they were sold out for the year. I've been hoping all winter that they would have them again this year, and they did. I really need to stop :)

Yeah, I'll put it in the garden tomorrow, unless it's raining:). I just wanted to see it running tho. I was very surprised. I hadn't seen one out of the box, I figured it would be plastic, especially since the box didn't seem that heavy. But it's ceramic I guess.

Are you serious? Would gold fish live in it outside? It's not very deep. Couple of inches.
