This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I think there could still be some surprises from the FLOTUS. She could be just playing along till she can really zot him:) Hope so.
Kim and her boyfriend....Kim is pretty much being Kim. Her boyfriend, he's toast when this crisis is over, IMO. I don't think Jack like's him at all, and won't let him slide.
The new people coming in, well, every year it's been on there's been someone new running CTU. And always almost a whole new team.
One thing about this show, they've never hesitated to kill off the people that are liked. I think that's part of it's appeal.

Yeah, mine aren't exactly thrilled about their hay either, but they'll stand around the pasture tweezing at what little grass has come up like they're trying to get one of those darned price stickers off of a piece of glass. It's kinda funny, but it must taste really good after a winter of nothing but dry hay.
Oh and about the hobbit....I never have cared much for Sean Astin, (hey, and I just read in a magazine that he's the son of Patty Duke, I had no clue:). I think about the only thing I thought he was any good in was the Goonies:). Jenny and I watched 50 First Dates last night while I was there, and I didn't like him in that either. he doesn't seem good at picking parts that endears him to the audience, except maybe as the Hobbit.

I'm getting very close to locking my horses up here in their runs for several months. Putting it off as long as I can, especially since Harley isn't being ridden either. I get so little to grow here, I have to be careful with what I do get. But I am going to seed and fertilize this year to improve it a bit.

They won't like it very much, but you've gotta do it if you're gonna reseed your pasture. Hopefully if you keep them off of it long enough, you'll get a good enough stand of grass to withstand their grazing and the dry spells too. You might have to just turn them out on it part of the time and keep them in their runs the rest of the time. Keeping it mowed and dragged will help too once it gets going.
True enough, and I hate to complain about a great show... but last night just left me feeling irritated!

As soon as I see a hint that mine is starting to grow again, I'm gonna do the same thing.

I know it's potentially alarming that I had a camera in the bath-tub with me... but wanted to show you all Tweek, our water cat. She comes running whenever I turn the water on in the tub. Don't worry, I have cropped them ~very~ tight. :~D
She's going after my toes here... and she splashes a LOT! Often getting pretty wet!

I did too:). I'm seriously considering planting some more seeds in my garden. I pruned the redbud this morning. First time I've actually done it when I'm suppose to:). I hope it helps shape it up better. It looks a bit like it has a crew cut now:). Grizzly is flirting with death again, he dug up a good bit of the new iris bed I had planted that was starting to grow:(.
