Tunisian singer and dancer Najla is trying eagerly to return to the scenes, yet decisions to ban her music surround her.
According to the London based weekly, Sayidaty, Najla insists on presenting nudity as an essential part of her music videos.
The most recent is Najlas fourth music video for "Baghlat Fi Ismak" (I Mistake your Name). The music channel Mazzika was forced to delete a number of scenes in order to make it appropriate for the average viewer, but even after the deletion the clip is still considered too sexual.
It contained scenes of Najla doing a strip tease, taking off her pants, but the channel was forced to censor the scene.
The continuous demands of viewers to ban Najla forced Mazzikas owner Muhsin Jaber, not to air her music video. This marks the third time the singer has been banned. The previous two clips that were banned were directed by Yasser Sami, who declined to have his name listed in the credits.
Egypt has also banned Najla, refusing her entry into the country. She has made several attempts to return, but has not changed her provocative style.
The Egyptian Musician Association announced that its campaign against pornographic music videos, such as the ones by Najla, is serious and it intends on forming a committee that will be responsible for trying to convince different music channels to stop airing them. The association claims such music videos are an insult to Arab music.
Head of the association Hassan Abu Suood revealed that the association does not have the mechanisms to take on such a mission, and its power does not cover any television stations outside of Egypt.
Najlas banning from Egypt was validated when an Egyptian newspaper reported that the singer was held at the airport for 12 hours trying to gain permission to enter. None of the singers contacts in Egypt were able to assist her in entering the country.
It was revealed that the decision to ban Najla was made to please a number of extreme parliament members that had attacked the style of her music videos.

"Najla, whose first profession is belly dancing, had occupied the number one spot of having the most seductive and extremely sexual video clip. She is the living example of sexing-up the Arabic video clips and changing it from a musical script to a mere cheap sexual performance.
In her clip, her body is the main subject of the video and other things like the words, music, and voice were just accessories. Najla is definitely not like Nancy Ajram and Alissa or even like Ruby and Marawa because those singers had the minimum required talent to sing in addition to their seductive performance.
In Najla's case her voice is irrelevant, she was holding the phone speaker in her hand and showing her body in a very cheap way that only suggested sex. The whole build up of the clip like the scorpion, Najla's revealing dress, the desert and the snake bite only gave one impression which was heat and sex.
Sounds like little Najla, being utterly lacking in musical talent, has resorted instead to what she does have.
She'd feel right at home in Hollywood or Nashville.
You know you've been banned in Tijeras when you can't get a coffee refill at the local Waffle House.
I don't believe that for a second.
From the few small pics I have seen of you, I can tell you are beautiful.
LOL!
The viewers reviews are funny too! Everything from "She's a skank" to "oooOOHHHH I want more!"
Thin isn't 'in' over there (which is grand) :)
Prolly from the SAME viewer!
LOL!
Good. You followed "The Rules"...
Me too...
I believe you. (Thousands wouldn't)...
That's why I clicked on it, too!
Najla determined to keep new video top secret (al bawaba, july 22, 2004)
Under high level of secrecy, Alam Al-Fan Production Company started filming the new video clip for the Tunisian singer and belly dancer Najla. Najla's first video clip Hatlob Ieedak (I Will Ask for Your Hand Tomorrow) waged a wave of criticism after the singer showed up in the clip with very revealing and seductive outfits.
a La Brittany and Madonna, so what else is new?
Najla's license to sing was cancelled by the Egyptian musicians association but this cancellation does not include filming the video clip the thing that explains why Hassan Ish Ish agreed to compose her video clip. The head of Egyptian Musicians Association Hassan Abu Sooud composed Najlas first song.
Najla asserts that her new music video will include even more seduction and boldness. Najla's first video clip raised lots of criticism after she showed up with revealing clothes and riding on a horse.
I swear you can't make these things up!
Najla added that she is using a tiger this time in the video clip where she tries to tame it, adding that she will deal with him the same way she dealt with the horse in her first video clip.
I honestly DON'T want to know !
The Tunisian singer expressed her sadness after being banned to sing in Egypt but added that she will be using Ruby's experience to help her change the decision of the Egyptian musicians association.
Since the release of her latest hit Najla has been receiving numerous offers to star in different films. The latest offer that Najla has received was for a leading role in a new film "Bustan El Viagra" (Viagra Garden) after prominent Egyptian actresses Laila Elwi and Elham Shahin turned it down. It has not been confirmed if Najla will accept the role or not.
Again, you can NOT make this stuff up!
Najla, whose first profession is belly dancing, ranked number one having the most seductive and e sexual video clip, and is the living example of sexing-up the Arabic video clips and changing it from a musical script to a mere cheap sexual performance.
