Tunisian singer and dancer Najla is trying eagerly to return to the scenes, yet decisions to ban her music surround her.
According to the London based weekly, Sayidaty, Najla insists on presenting nudity as an essential part of her music videos.
The most recent is Najlas fourth music video for "Baghlat Fi Ismak" (I Mistake your Name). The music channel Mazzika was forced to delete a number of scenes in order to make it appropriate for the average viewer, but even after the deletion the clip is still considered too sexual.
It contained scenes of Najla doing a strip tease, taking off her pants, but the channel was forced to censor the scene.
The continuous demands of viewers to ban Najla forced Mazzikas owner Muhsin Jaber, not to air her music video. This marks the third time the singer has been banned. The previous two clips that were banned were directed by Yasser Sami, who declined to have his name listed in the credits.
Egypt has also banned Najla, refusing her entry into the country. She has made several attempts to return, but has not changed her provocative style.
The Egyptian Musician Association announced that its campaign against pornographic music videos, such as the ones by Najla, is serious and it intends on forming a committee that will be responsible for trying to convince different music channels to stop airing them. The association claims such music videos are an insult to Arab music.
Head of the association Hassan Abu Suood revealed that the association does not have the mechanisms to take on such a mission, and its power does not cover any television stations outside of Egypt.
Najlas banning from Egypt was validated when an Egyptian newspaper reported that the singer was held at the airport for 12 hours trying to gain permission to enter. None of the singers contacts in Egypt were able to assist her in entering the country.
It was revealed that the decision to ban Najla was made to please a number of extreme parliament members that had attacked the style of her music videos.

What would a trip to Al Bawaba be without checking out the entertainment section. The bolding at the end is mine, that group of MP's are trying to ban something almost daily.
Here is the bad girl in question (and I'm still searching for the video)

I gather the attitude is that you know you've made it as a Super Star when you've been banned in Egypt ;)

but even after the deletion the clip is still considered too sexual. You mean it actually * gasp * showed her whole head uncovered?
