This one, the Wieskirche, in Bavaria, near Fussen Germany, isn't small but I think it is somewhat unusual. First, it sits right in the middle of a pasture in the countryside with cattle grazing all around. The exterior is nice but nothing out of the ordinary. The interior is an altogether different story. To say it defines the term, "gilding the lilly", waaaay understates the case. Talk about "Rococo". The interior is white, gold, pastels and cherubs. I'd never heard of it, was in the area visiting Oberammergau, Neuschwanstein, etc and someone suggested I stop to see the "White Church in the meadow". I'm glad I did, it was eyepopping. LOL
Built between 1746 and 1754 by the Zimmermann brothers to house a miraculous crucifix that in 1738 had reportedly wept. The church remains a pilgrimage stop as well as a tourist attraction since it is considered the best example of a rococo style church in Germany. Rococo style, balances heavy decoration with light, airy, almost happy elements including pastel colors, gold and ivory, thin columns and lots of cherubs. The word Wieskirche means the church in the meadow, and perfectly describes this church's setting located about 15 minutes northeast of Füssen.
What does sweet think ? She is the one you hafta convince. LOL The rest of us are just innocent bystanders waiting for the next critter to appear.
Well, it is pretty much commonly accepted that odd things are my fault.

BRAMPTON, Ont. -- One of the men charged with plotting to stage a massive terrorist attack on Canadian soil also allegedly expressed a desire to behead Prime Minister Stephen Harper, his lawyer said Tuesday.
Gary Batasar, who represents 25-year-old restaurant worker Steven Chand, dropped the bombshell as he spoke to the media after 15 of the 17 people charged in the alleged plot made a brief court appearance in this city northwest of Toronto.
''The allegations, as you reported, are quite serious, including storming and bombing of various buildings,'' Batasar said.
''There's an allegation that my client personally indicated that he wanted to behead the prime minister of Canada.''
Batasar said the synopsis of accusations provided by the Crown included allegations that the group wanted to ''storm the Parliament buildings'' and ''take politicians hostage.'' It also indicated that the CBC building in downtown Toronto was a potential target.
The synopsis also alleges Chand indicated ''he would personally like to behead Stephen Harper,'' Batasar said.
He said the group also allegedly planned to behead the hostages if their demands - the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan and the release of Muslim prisoners - weren't met.
Batasar accused those authorities, as well as the U.S. government and President George W. Bush, of trying to instil fear in the public.
''It appears to me that whether you're in Ottawa or Toronto or Crawford, Tex., or Washington, D.C., what is wanting to be instilled in the public is fear,'' he said.
''That's precisely why everyone is here today, and that's unfortunate.''
The lawyer chastised Harper for expressing ''happiness'' that the suspects had been arrested over the weekend.
''I expect my client to get a fair trial, as fair as every other trial that occurs in Canada,'' he said.
''In fact, the comments made by the prime minister himself with respect to his happiness that these persons had been arrested certainly is surprising and shocking. I believe the prime minister should keep out of the process and let justice take its course.''
Lawyer Donald McLeod complained of restrictions to accessing his client, including only being allowed to speak to the accused through Plexiglas and not being allowed to have private discussions with them.
''Whether or not it hampers their right, it's something that we, as counsel, would like to have,'' he said.
He also complained that the accused were being refused their religious rights.
''They're Muslim,'' said McLeod. ''Clearly they'd like to be able to pray as a group. I'd like to facilitate that religious freedom they're entitled to.''
He also complained the men in custody were not being given an opportunity to speak with their families, who packed the courtroom.
Family members who arrived to support the accused in court were met by a horde of media from across Canada and the U.S., including CNN, the Los Angeles Times and most major television networks.
The accused appeared before the court in three separate groups, and by late morning 10 of them had their bail hearing postponed for at least five days.
Three of the youth who can't be identified, Asad Ansari, 21, Fahim Ahmad, 21, Zakaria Amara, 20, Qayyum Abdul Jamal, 43, Amin Mohamed Durrani, 19, and Jahmaal James, 23, are all scheduled to return to court June 12.
Shareef Abdelhaleen, 30, will return on July 4 for a bail hearing.
One of the youths will also have a bail hearing on June 16.
All 15 are being held at the Maplehurst correctional facility in Milton, Ont.
Neighbours said Chand, also known as Abdul Shakur, rented a basement apartment in a home owned by Mohammad Attique, a father of five.
Neighbours report that police pulled up to the house on Friday with forensics trucks. A SWAT team and blocked off the street.
Police were seen by neighbours leaving the residence carrying sealed Ziploc bags containing unspecified items.
