Hello everyone. I noticed that the site was down earlier.
Al has been doing yard work, and I've been collecting junk and packing it up. I have to start somewhere, and somehow. I haven't been feeling the greatest. I'm starting to wonder if I have walking pneumonia or worse...:( Oh well, the world doesn't stop for our illnesses, and you have to git r dun. ;)
Got a dozen tomato plants in, and he fixed Dyan's leaking roof. (Wish he could fix my leaks...)
I'm leaking allll over the place....:)

IMO, the best news over the past couple of days has to be the successful surgery to stablize Barbaro's leg. It was heartbreaking to see this beautiful, sweet natured and courageous animal pull up and try to balance his body on just 3 legs. I pray his recovery goes as well as the surgery. His story may become one of the most uplifting in modern thoroughbred racing because he seems to be surrounded by people who genuinely care about the well being of this horse. Everyone connected to Barbaro ... his trainer, jockey, grooms, the owners and doctors all speak about this horse with love and respect.
Love, not money, is factor in bid to save horse's life LINK

gran I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling puny. If you think you might have walking Pneumonia, don't mess around with it, cause "it" will win. And, it will take forever to shake the lingering effects once you get treatment. Slow you down for weeks.

Fair Warning: the next 2 or 3 links might not be interesting to some of you, might even make some of you a bit queasy but I'm always fascinated by the wonders of medical science and thoroughbred horses. In this case, one of the doctors said the leg at the point of injury is approximately the same diameter as a tennis ball. Just imagine legs that delicate carrying a horse weighin in the neighborhood of 1,500 pounds. In addition to excellant immediate care on the track, the doctors attribute Barbaro's innate poise as being a factor in his successful treatment to this point.

Pretty much.
They haven't recovered the door either.
(Like it would be hard to track down a five hundred pound bronze door.)

LOL! If that is what you go through regularly...God help you. I see the glory land! Just one "lady" with a mouth is all it takes. One a half hours with a Pitbull. And it wasn't even my day job.

Hi Gran,
Beautiful springtime picture there.
Get some antibiotics into you if you think something like pneumonia might be taking hold. Don't let yourself get cold or worn down either, I know you know how to take care of yourself.
