Inspired by fringe beliefs that invasive radio signals can probe a citizens' thoughts and that wearing foil on your head may fend them off, an experiment by four Ph.D candidates found that certain frequencies-owned by the Feds naturally-are actually enhanced by such "protection."
Overall, the foil effectively weakend radio waves by up to 10 decibels over most of the frequency spectrum (there were no significant differences among helmet shapes). But at 1.2 and 2.6 GHz-which fall within the band reserved for government satellites, GPS systems and mobile-phone corporations-passage through the foil amplified these waves by 20-30 decibels.

"Maybe helium will help lighten the rear load." And will enable us to sing like Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Oh, alright. It's getting close to my bedtime, anyway. Puppy keeps waking me up at 4 a.m.
Maybe we could do the Giant Jiffy Pop at the Great FReeper Chili Cookoff ... that would give us time to plan!
Goodnight, All!

only the tubular ones will - you know, the ones you can twist into funny shapes.

That was fun! "Puppy keeps waking me up at 4 a.m." And we know what happens if you don't let puppy out!
Good night...

Mazer is a microwave laser.
Originally Laser was light amplified whatsits doohickey acronym, and radio lasers were termed rasers, and UV lasers were UVasers, phased lasers were phasers and such.
Eventually the only term that stuck was Laser.
*shrugs*
I dunno why.
But a megawatt mazer would be quite a thing to behold, or not behold actually as it would be invisible until it hit something.

I wear a tin foil jockstrap to prevent my body acting like a beacon when I am looking at pictures of Monica Belucci. Better safe than sorry.Max!
