Can tinfoil hats actually prevent the government from reading your thoughts?

Inspired by fringe beliefs that invasive radio signals can probe a citizens' thoughts and that wearing foil on your head may fend them off, an experiment by four Ph.D candidates found that certain frequencies-owned by the Feds naturally-are actually enhanced by such "protection."
Overall, the foil effectively weakend radio waves by up to 10 decibels over most of the frequency spectrum (there were no significant differences among helmet shapes). But at 1.2 and 2.6 GHz-which fall within the band reserved for government satellites, GPS systems and mobile-phone corporations-passage through the foil amplified these waves by 20-30 decibels.

Largest popcorn foil bag ever... We should capitalize on that. Get in on the ground floor! I'll invest in the popcorn and tin foil and you could supply the microwaves. What you say?

Ever see the movie Real Genius? They turn someone's house into a giant Jiffy Pop. They had a big laser, though, instead of a bunch of microwaves. Got one of those?

I remember the movie, yes.
Have a giant laser?
No.
Wish I did though.

It's a spoof off some poorly translated video games. My kids showed it to me, and it just cracks me up. Some people get really irritated by it. But I've spent so much money on video games, it is a comic relief.

Sounds like a funny movie. Darks might have some lasers laying around that we could use?
