Steelers ticker-tape parade Tuesday BREAKING NEWS

Pittsburgh will throw a ticker-tape parade Tuesday morning to celebrate the Steelers' first Super Bowl victory in 26 years. The parade of Steelers players and high school marching bands will set out from Mellon Arena at 11 a.m. and proceed down Centre Avenue. The marchers will turn left on Sixth Avenue, go right on Fifth Avenue, turn left on Liberty Avenue and stop near the Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel near Gateway Center, Downtown, said Public Works Director Guy Costa.

As far as games go, I think it was pretty mediocre all the way around.
Neither team ever had any "momentum" to begin with, so you can't really blame it all on the refs.
Pittsburgh might have had some "momentum" if Rothlisberger didn't throw that bonehead interception...
I give lots of credit to the Seahawks' offensive line... Steelers didn't get to Hasslebeck as much as I would've expected. But Hasslebeck and his receivers performed poorly... so what if they had a couple calls go against them? Sheesh, they were either dropping balls or catching 'em a step-and-a-half out of bounds all game. They didn't do diddly-squat to overcome the few bad calls that you're gonna get every game. At least Pittsburgh came up with the razzle-dazzle gadget pass and a 75-yard run to score. Those two plays alone were all that was needed to win.
Franco and a Cowboy? Your memory is really bad. It was Joe Green, and it was a Cleveland Brownie he kicked, after being punched in the balls himself.
That's exactly the way Steeler vs Brownes games were played since 1950.

Yes, that graphic sure sums up the whining Seahawks fans and the whining Steeler haters, doesn't it?
Not quite, FRiend. The 75 yard run was a great play, but the gadget pass was a direct result of the (1) bogus holding call that brought the Seahawks back from the 2 yard line and (2) the 15 yard penaly for tackling below the waist.
The game was mediocre on part of the teams, but the refs seriously damaged several instances where the Seahawks were starting to breakout of their mediocrity.
I would rather have seen two mediocre performances slugging it out for a win than one of the two being promulgated by the refs.
I didn't hear him agree with a hold. I did hear him say they'll always call that a hold, but he didn't actually say they SHOULD.
Bad calls went against both teams. Pittsburgh won despite sloppy officiating. The officials didn't run the ball 75 yards. The officials didn't complete the long pass for a TD.
And your tagline "There is no substitute for victory." seems out of place, as the Seahawks fans seem to have found that whining and griping is apparently an acceptable substitute for victory.
Do you mean credit for this particular Seattle adaptation of "Sore Loserman"?

There are bad calls in every game.
Good teams win despite those calls.
interviews at the end of the first half by both coaches said the same thing: players need to settle down - Pittsburgh did, Seattle didn't...Dont' forget the 6 points the field goal kicker cost them. And the special team for SEattle clearly messed up in atleast 2 instances where they could have knocked that ball inbounds. No, Seattle didn't deserve to win and Pittsburgh made the big plays (loved that throw from EL to #86 - THAT was the biggest play of the day and most impressive)
Look at it from a positive angle.
All the poor, destitute people in the world will soon be wearing the "Seattle Super Bowl Champions" shirts that got printed before the game.
Number one Seahawk male fan pickup line at Seattle clubs late last night:
"Let's get out of here babe, you and I can go lay down just like our team did."
Yeah, the 'hawks sure did lay down last night. LOL!
On one of the returns I thought EL broke his back. Did anyone see the direction his body went after he dived forward. Then he layed on the ground holding his back. It was a hit that brought tears to my eyes. (That don't happen very often.)
And, sometimes, less than the best win because of bad calls, too. ;-P
