Unless it is specifically not allowed, why didn't team double d's wait until they could see who the last team was and yield them also. You could figure out that there was one more team behind you by looking at the numbers on the board.
It is still early, but I hope that the winners are not team horny and team hippie. Team Magoo need GLASSES. Ray and Yolanda need a MAP. Lake needs manners and Michelle needs a baseball bat to knock some sense into him ;O).
I'd like to see the nerds win although she struggled with the road block. Nothing in the rules said that she couldn't look at another statue to see the 2 extra pieces.

Joseph is the one that said, "Palamino". That was hilarious after Monica's Pal-ear-mo, and I'm not a dumb blond moment.

Yes, I find Fran and Barry to be the most annoying of all teams this year. They are just plain rude, and full of themselves. I hope they don't last, but there are not a lot of good racers in this group, so they might get lucky.
I don't care for the hippies myself. They seem very nice, of course, but they are just not funny, IMO. And since they are continually trying to be funny, they just annoy.

I'm pretty sure there is only one yield, and once a team uses it, no one else can. Also, the racers do not necessarily know who is behind them. I think that is why the yield is rarely used, because people don't want to waste it on someone ahead of them.
I don't blame them for being upset, but the dumb-hicks from the South comment made me very glad they are out.

Why are they changing the time? Ratings bad?
To: EmilyGeiger
I think so. 10pm was a miserable time slot--especially for a show like this. 8/7 should work much better.

FYI....
http://www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-amazingracemoves,0,5891585.story?coll=zap-tv-headlines
"The Amazing Race," which has been struggling a little in the last hour of primetime, is switching nights, bumping two underperforming comedies in the process.
Starting next week, "The Amazing Race" will air at 8 p.m. ET Wednesdays, a switch from its previous spot at 10 p.m. Tuesdays. The ninth edition of the Emmy-winning series has been averaging fewer than 10 million viewers since its Feb. 28 premiere, its lowest figures since the third "Race" in summer 2003.
The switch puts it into a fairly wide-open timeslot where no show has been dominant in recent weeks. NBC has had success there with "Deal or No Deal" the past couple of weeks, and FOX's "Bones" has performed solidly as well, but neither one dominates the hour on the level that "American Idol" or "CSI" does.
It also puts the family-friendly show in a timeslot where more kids are likely to be watching with their parents.
The move of "The Amazing Race" bumps the comedies "Out of Practice" and "Courting Alex" off the schedule; CBS offers only a vague "at a later date" as to when they might be back. Both shows have dropped precipitously since moving from their cozy Monday-night homes earlier in the season.
"Out of Practice," which drew 12.2 million viewers per week in the fall, when it was sandwiched between "Two and a Half Men" and "CSI: Miami," has averaged only 6.6 million since its Wednesday debut last week. "Courting Alex," which occupied the same Monday slot in January and February, has brought in 6.3 million viewers a week in its new home -- half what it was averaging previously.

If TAR goes up against LOST or Invasion on the new night, I would think that would signal a death knell for it, unless everyone now has Tivo.
To: sockmonkey
I dunno.... Lost and Invasion have both 'lost' me. I enjoy good TV as well as the next person, but both these shows required more effort than I am willing to put into entertainment! lol

I like the new time for TAR, but hate the new night.
I keep on falling sleep while watching TAR. However on Wednesday, we watch Lost. Now, we have nothing of value to watch on Tuesday.
TV viewing is getting slim these days. Battlestar Galactica finished it's season. Now, there won't be anything to watch on Tuesday.
My husband and I usually like to watch 1 TV show at night. That's hard to do.
To: silent_jonny
Thanks for the recaps. When TAR moved to the 10 PM slot, I've missed every episode, due to falling asleep. I'll welcome the new time.

According to TiVo and the tv guide, it is still listed as 10PM next Tuesday {April 4th}. We will see when it shifts to Wednesday.
The only conflict, is that I will have to also record Alias {on the VCR} which returns with a 2 hour episode on April 19th at 8PM-10PM.
To: hattend
I'm pretty sure the Yield is "First come, first served" It probably is, but that would be an interesting twist if it could be used multiple times.

Try NCIS, Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS. Great show.

I never could watch an episode of Lost, but Invasion was one of my faves. Great casting! That eerie sheriff (Wm Fichtner) and his blonde doctor wife are quite convincing as the you're-not-quite-sure-what-they-are-and-neither-are-they couple. As for Courting Alex, which TAR is now bumping out of the Weds. lineup, what a huge disappointment. How could Jenna Elfman and Dabney Coleman, superb comedic actors, lay such a huge egg. The rotten script, that's how.
And as for TAR, it deserved to lose audience share after foisting that last rotten season on its dedicated viewers. Screaming kids trying to find trailer parks in Alabama???? What were the producers thinking? We the dedicated viewers might forgive them now that they're back in interesting locations with at least a few competent contestants. But I'll bet that a lot of viewers never came back after the "family" fiasco. However, TAR is a great show FOR the family, and an 8:00 slot will probably increase the ratings.
I still like the hippie guys....gotta read up on them, as I'm still inclined to believe they're not quite what they seem. Today's real hippies, I think, are negative stoners, which these racers really are not. They're too upbeat to fall into that category. Research time!

Gorgeous Castellammare, Sicily
Anyone else as taken with this pit stop as I was? Wow!
I loved this week's Race in Sicily. So I called my Sicilian friend in NoCal and learned that she recently inherited two houses near the castle. Wanna guess where I'm going next year? (Grin)
