They were good too - nice voice timber, excellent harmonies and easy on the eye. All that made it worse. My jam buddy got pulled aside right after by one of the bartender girls and got the riot act read to him - "You should've picked some different songs!!" He replied "But they're the only chick songs we know!"

Doesn't matter, we're probably screwed . Next week will go one of two ways - either we'll get the ice treatment - or they'll be a lot more willing to grab the microphone without me dragging them from behind the bar.

Taking a woman out to dinner at a nice restaraunt and then turning into one of those "I don't believe in tipping" guys is a real killer. I had to explain this to a buddy of mine as he was dismayed why this nice girl he went out with never called him back.

I explained to my buddy that the girl he took to dinner has probably, at one point in her life, worked as a waitress and if not, she has friends who have. Don't ever, ever stiff the waitstaff on a date no matter how terrible the service may have been.

I was a waitress in college. I busted my butt doing that. It was hard work. Some nights I'd come home and my feet would be killing me.

Since then I have new fond respect for (good) waitresses. I always tip more than 15%. I'm a good tipper and I expect my date to be one too.

That will get you nowhere. Women have only one thing on their minds and if you, as a guy, aren't willing to put out and let her have her way with trying to change you, then she'll just move on to the next guy who will have no self respect and let her do whatever her filthy urges tell her to do.

The worst I had was after a couple of daytime lunches where she met me at work.

For our first"real" date she forgot to send me directions to her house and I had to call her that morning to get them.

When I got to her place she announced that we would have to pick up her sister at the airport as she was flying back from a trip to Los Angeles.

We had a quick dinner,picked up her sister(who I had never met) and went to a bar nearby

The two of them sat there talking about her trip for about an hour and a half while I sat there.

The music was so loud you had to scream to be heard so there wasn`t much chance of joining the conversation.

Worst Date:

It started out OK enough..hanging with some friends, having a few drinks. He was a guitar player and decided to sing to me acappella "Stairway To Heaven" ...As the night progressed he got weirder and weirder. I had his friends drag him home and dump him on his front lawn.

Best Date:

An Army guy told his roommate who was dating my best friend that when he returned from his weekend warrior duties, he was going to ask me out. We had moved in the same circles but were always dating others. He took me to the movies, we found out we both had a strange sense of humor. 1 year later we married and have been married for almost 17 years later. To this day he is still asking me out. ;P

Likewise. I believe that waitresses remember 2 people: good tippers and bad tippers. A few extra bucks out of my wallet isn't going to set me back and if it puts me on the "good tippers" list, all the better as I eat out frequently.

My brother put himself through college waiting tables and bartending. I've heard plenty of stories about $1 or $2 tips on $100 tabs.
