Her "wide-eyed rube in the city" thing is grating. It really is. And I think it is an act.
Who does she think she's fooling, saying she never had a salmon? Salmon is one of the basic food groups in North Carolina, right behind BBQ.

Kellie's good, but she's no Carrie Underwood.
Carrie has outsold Fantasia and Ruben, but I'm not sure about Kelly Clarkson. I think she's done the best so far.

I never ate salmon until I was about thirty and hated it. She is only seventeen. We rarely had fish in my house which is good because I don't like fish. I think everybody forgets how young these kids are. I know very few teenagers that eat fish.

I hate salmon too, but they used to serve it to us in the school cafeteria. There's no way she hasn't at least seen salmon before. She acted like it was some kind of exotic dish.
