As a side note, notice that ALL FOUR of the gals had lower numbers than the lowest guy. If they simply dumped the 4 lowest, the 4 gals would be gone and all the guys still there.

If I'm in the bottom 3, I'll quit Idol and get all kinds of attention and a HUGE recording deal like that guy Mario "What's his name" from last year!

Actually, they did that because 2 years ago there were almost ALL girls in the top 12.

It should be the 4 lowest people period. The whole 6 girls/guys making up the top 12 isn't a good idea. I agree. I didn't like it when they picked the top 24 and still don't. Some years you might have more women and some years, like this year, you would have more guys, but at least it would be a matter of keeping the most talented, which is what the show is supposed to be all about.

I don't know. I think they had a harder time with getting the top 12 guys. But that makes the ones they got a whole lot better.
If they voted off the "bottom 4" regardless of "sex," I think the final 12 would be about 7 guys and 5 girls.
