I thought Mandisa was the best last night. The other girls just seemed phony.

I agree with most of your comments. Katharine McPhee has unfortunately not lived up to expectations. Not only does she oversing simple ballads, but she is OVERCOACHED by that MammaRose stage mother of hers. The girl is not allowed to be herself; the mother is reliving her career through Katharine. It's sad to see.
Plus Katharine should burn her entire wardrobe and go shopping with Melissa, who knows how to look hot.

Wolfie, you have really pegged Kellie Pickler. I expect she will go straight from AI to Hustler magazine (or whatever its successor is nowadays.)

but she is OVERCOACHED by that MammaRose stage mother of hers. This cracked me up! Maybe next week she will sing, "Let Me Entertain You".
It's ironic that you bring up Mamma Rose, because I was thinking that all these descriptions of her stage mom remind me of the stories about Natalie Wood's stage mother.

About Pickler and the spinach salad...do they not have a Wendy's down there in Possumville, NC (or wherever she's from)???
Wendy's chicken salad, with spinach and mandarin oranges, is one of my favorites.

>>>She says people call her "Show" because of her fashion sense????<<<
Re: Paris's fashion sense. I notice she is always covered neck to toe, long sleeves, etc. Is this because she is extremely modest, or because she's hiding the bruises she gets from her Stage Mother, Stage Grandmother, and Stage Auntie when she doesn't rehearse hard enough?

I'm over her as well. Something is not right about her schtick. It's way too overdone.
To: Palladin
That's right! Guess she is loyal to Sonic and doesn't participate in any Wendy's shenanigans.

I expect she will go straight from AI to Hustler magazine.Being a straight female, I don't know for sure if she would be Hustler or Playboy material. I suspect she'll continue to try to pursue a singing or acting career, and Hustler/Playboy rarely is a route to success singing or acting.

My grandkids in Memphis love Sonic. One evening a week, they get to eat there, right after music lessons. It must be pretty good.

I'm over her as well. The first time we saw her during the auditions, I thought, "Wow! A warmer Carrie Underwood." But my initial good impression didn't last long at all.
Another one who I thought was good disappointed me last night, and that's Katharine McPhee. (I hate her last name, too.)

We get commercials for Sonic around here and their food looks really good. But the closest one is in Champaign, about 3 hours away.

Melissa ... not bad at all, but not memorable eitherI disagree--her performance is the only one that I remember from last night, in a positive way.

Mandisa is the best, IMO, because I get the feeling she is just being MandisaGood point! I get the opposite impression from the Gherkin.
I've stated it before and I'm going to state it again, something is off about The Gherkin. You don't get to be Miss Anything without carefully cultivating your image and that is what I think she is doing. Her story is horrible and something no one should have to go through, but I think the whole "Aren't I just so cute, because I am just so country?" thing is wearing thin.
I had to copy and paste that entire paragraph--well said! And amen!

You don't get to do all that, especially when you're under age (she's only 19 now), without some interested, caring adult(s) helping you. That deserves an AMEN too! :)
