Serious advice for the ladies (and the guys should take this to heart, too) -- stop choosing songs because you like them, or that it's your mother's/grandmother's/aunt's/cat's/goldfish's/etc. favorite song. Pick something that will showcase youAMEN!
Melissa ... this was clearly a "welcome to the competition" performance
I agree!
Katherine - She's really starting to disappoint me... one of the best voices, if not the best voice, in the competition, she mailed this one in.
Yeah, but I chalk that up to nerves. Being the first to sing live in front of millions has to be stressful. But she'll have to get over that if she wants to stay.

I chalk that up to nerves I really can't, not after seeing the same problem, to greater and lesser extents, last week and in her initial audition. She's an excellent singer, but a lousy perfromer right now. She really, really needs to work on the performance aspect in a hurry if she wants to go anywhere in this competition.

My one word for last night is: B-O-R-I-N-G. One of the worst nights I can remember. Nobody was good, everyone sang sappy, safe, incredibly dull songs. My guess for the top 6 remains the same:
Katherine
Paris
Lisa
Mandisa
Ayla
Kellie
I think Melissa's and Kinnik's stock went up last night. Brenna and Heather were simply dreadful....again.
It was a very dull show last night. I hope the guys are much better and put on better performances. I can't put up with more sappy tripe like last night.

Much said last night about lousy song selection..I thought I heard one of the judges..Cowell?... say that the contestantrs were given a list of several hundred songs to choose from? Is this true?..Can anyone confirm? I assume it would be because the producers have to secure clearance rights to perform the song? anyone in the industry know how this works? So it would seem that the music directors for the show are the ones to blame..and not the singers..choosing lousy songs...GIGO..right?

Much said last night about lousy song selection..I thought I heard one of the judges..Cowell?... say that the contestantrs were given a list of several hundred songs to choose from? Well I hope the guys list this week contains some songs suitable for straight gays. Last week we had to endure Mellisa Ethridge, Elton John, Micheal Jackson, Barry Manilow and George Micheal. They needed to call last week's show, Gay Idol.
To: silent_jonny
I think they want to get rid of her more than we doNot humanly possible.

Maybe he will sing Nelly's song 'Grillz' this week,

I agree 100% with the show being very disappointing last night. I agree with your top six too, just in a little bit different order:)
Lisa
Katherine
Paris
Ayla
Mandisa
Kellie
Lisa was good, not as good as last week. BUT she needs to do something different next week. The two weeks were too similar. Katherine played it way to safe.
