Ok... plans change... looks like I will be around this week. That's great! I really enjoy reading your critiques. :)
To: Wyatt's Torch
That will be very cool.....but it wouldn't surprise me to hear the judges say he needs to branch out....;-) Exactly. If they go outside their niche and it doesn't go perfectly, then they say, you need to stay in your niche, its who you are. However, if they stay in their niche, then the judges say you need to branch out, get out of the 'safety zone'! LOL

Don't you just hate it when a bad song gets stuck in your mind? Only made worse by the visuals that came with it! :)

Why thank you... my out of town adventure has been rescheduled for the week of May 14th, which according to my calculations will be when we're down to three, at which point missing my review isn't a big deal, as we will all have chosen our favorites by then.

I think she is the dark horse candidate to win this year. I can't wait to hear whatever she will be singing this week. I'll finally get to hear the ladies tomorrow night. She sounded good at the auditions, though. :)

As long as you don't have to be gone for the big finale. You just gotta make sure you are here for that. :)

Ive Got a Woman - by Ray Charles! Taylor Hicks - "Easy" - by The Commodores, I believe
Any idea which one?

Any idea which one?
The reliable source buzz tells me it's the Ray Charles one and she is sticking to it, confident that it is the TRUE DEAL. She was right the first time about "Levon", I see no reason why she should not be right this time.
I believe she's right. Easy by the Commodores is well, too easy and too bland for Taylor and he'd be stupid to sing such a song that does not highlight what he's capable of. Not after Randy's comments the last time.

Here is the complete version of Taylor's GEORGIA ON MY MIND.
AMAZING !! Honestly -- his lone guitar accompanied version rivals the great Ray Charles Himself ( no offense to the great Ray ).
For you blues fans out there ---> Hear the guitar riffs.
It's as if Taylor was possessed with Ray Charle's essence when he sang it. This version is definitely something to treasure.

TV guide channel just announced that Katharine McPhee is off the show? They said they heard it and that if she is to remember you heard it from them, but if not then you heard it on E! lol
They also said there is some sort of voting snafu for text messaging.
To: SirLinksalot
I like Ray Charles, have you seen the movie 'Ray'? Just wondered if its as good as it looks. I like listening to Hicks style.
To: SirLinksalot
Wow....that version is really good. Wonder who was playing the guitar. It's almost as good. Any idea if the contestants are allowed to play instruments as well? They did that in Rock Star INXS which added so much to the performances. It would separate the musicians from the singers...

Oh I hope not! She was my top pick for the girls....

Looks like this American Idol 4 favorite did the smart thing ....
SOURCE :
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,165927,00.html 'Idol' Defector Mario Vasquez Gets Big Record Deal
Tuesday, August 16, 2005
By Roger Friedman
Mario's Scheme Works
You may recall the story about Mario Vazquez, the kid who bolted mid-season from "American Idol" last winter. He'd been convinced by his lawyer the same lawyer who represented Clay Aiken to leave the show rather than stay and sign a management contract with the "Idol" producers.
I can tell you now that the strategy worked. Mario, according to my sources, has signed a lucrative deal with legendary record executive Clive Davis and Davis' J Records.
Even better: Vazquez will be managed by another legend, Arnold Steifel, the man who has guided Rod Stewart's rocketing career for over 30 years.
The deal will be announced right after Labor Day, sources tell me. But no time is being wasted: even as we speak, Vazquez is in the studio recording tracks under Davis' watchful eye.
This news should be a big deal for several reasons: If Vazquez had stayed on "American Idol" and won which he likely would have done he would have wound up on J Records anyway.
The main difference is now he won't have to live under a management agreement with 19 Entertainment and Simon Fuller.
Fuller doesn't look so good in this deal, but you never know. Perhaps sensing an end to "American Idol" madness, he sold his company for millions of dollars earlier this year.
And there's a rumor that "Idol" winners will no longer record for J Records. Fuller is said to be shopping around for a new home.
Davis, as usual, comes out on top. He has the next big pop star and is off the hook if "Idol" is indeed on the wane.

Thanks for that link. I'm listening to the songs now. I haven't heard a bad one yet.

The applause at the end of "Georgia" cracked me up. It sounded like there were a whole 2-3 people there. I can't imagine after AI he will be playing so such tiny crowds anymore.
