for Tammy
She was also on some other talent/reality show and was booted off. Not sure which one. I think it was the one with P. Diddy (or whatever he's calling himself this week).
She's persistent -- gotta hand her that much. But she's a phony.
ROFLMAO times 10!!!
That one caught my eye too.
It wouldn't be so bad if the other ex-Idols were in her league, but don't Tamyra, Vonzell or even Fedorv think it's just a little insulting to be performing next to Mikalah??? Sheesh :)
I guess they are going by the old adage that any publicity, even if it's bad, is better than no publicity.
Thanks to Jocon307 and Palladin for the pings :)
Thanks, I loved that article!
I can relate to Ms. Pickler's backstory because my mother abandoned me when I was a toddler. I never saw her again.
Although my father was a good guy and he kept custody of me, he was ill-prepared to raise a child, especially a girl child. As a result, I was bounced from one care-giver and relative to another until I was old enough to be placed in a working-class Catholic boarding school where I spent the next 12 years. In practical terms, I was raised much like an orphan.
I can certainly understand Kellie's desire to pull herself up in life. However, she is not going to do that by turning herself into an imitation of Carrie Underwood.
Thanks!
I didn't see either of the (alleged) felons in the "waiting room" on elevator night.
Good point. I missed the first 20 minutes of the show, so I was just curious.
Thanks!
And here are a couple from "Gimmie The Mike"
With the other contestants.
This is a freeze-frame when she won a semi-final round.
Now I don't doubt that she has had to overcome a lot in her life, and I don't mean to belittle what she's been able to accomplish, but nowhere in the article I linked to does it mention the fact that she's competed in pageants and talent shows.
Heck, the way Idol portrays her, you'd think Kellie arrived at the auditions on the back of a turnip truck.
Jonny, that's why I mentioned my own background a few posts back. I have also had to overcome a childhood devoid of a mother, family, love, a home and so on. At least Kellie wasn't shut up in what amounted to a soft prison while she was growing up, as I was. My entire childhood, I don't remember a single time -- not once -- when anyone ever told me they loved me. Not even my father.
At least Kellie had a grandfather who she could live with, and mentors who helped her. How did she enter pagents when she was underage without adults to help and encourage her? I had none of that in my childhood, young adulthood, and heck, not even throughout much of my adult life.
The reason I mention this is not to mine for sympathy for myself, but to say that I am on equal footing with her sob story and CAN criticise the way she is allowing AI to portray her. Do I understand why she and AI are doing it? Of course! However, they are being highly dishonest by, as you say, making it appear as though she just fell off a turnip truck.
And I say again...Kellie is not going to make it as a Carrie Underwood knock-off. If I could give Kellie one piece of advice, it would be to darken her hair, cut it to shoulder length or shorter, and be herself throughout the rest of the competition. Then she might have a chance.
Very good advice for Kellie. But I don't think she wants to give up that peroxide blonde, Southern beauty queen look.
I'll have to see more of her to make any judgments, but right now she doesn't seem quite as fresh and wholesome as Carrie.
The one with the freshness and unspoiledness this year is, IMHO, Lisa Tucker.
It might be fun to do some early polling.
Who are your top three guys and top three gals, as of today?
Mine are:
1. Lisa Tucker
2. Ayla Brown
3. Katharine McPhee
1. Taylor Hicks
2. Chris Daughtry
3. Patrick Hall
With TWO ladies from Westchester County in the final 24, the local Gannet rag, the JOurnal News..has been heavily covering them..( a huge front page story on last unday's papers, for example ) though it does NOT put the articles on the website..hmmmm?.....anywho, a friend whose brother-in-laws sister works at the paper, says that they have, and are HOLDING a story on Brenna..who knows..but what is interesting is that if true, it means the editors are betting that she goes further in the competition, where obviously the story, if any, has more impact..
If Kellie is indeedsinging a Martina McBride song, then she is realy channelling Carrie..
