LOL! I'm proud of her--not only for winning, but for the way she's conducted herself tonight. All class.She is trying so hard to set a classy example instead of the trashy pop tart stuff that's been the rage for too many years. She's still only 23.
Different gender and field of endeavor, but in a couple of ways she reminds me of the young Jeff Gordon. Like Jeff, she's unfailingly nice, makes an effort to be classy, and has a great business sense.

Has there been any mention of Kelly's solo? The show is running long. They're having a tribute to New Orleans now--another incoherent mess.
Speaking of class (or the lack thereof), at the end of Bruce Springsteen's performance, he said: "Bring 'em home!" Which received a standing-o. I assume the "'em" means the troops, most of them too young to know who he is. Or care :)
And Tom Hanks, one of my favorite actors, paid homage to a pair of "blacklisted" commies. Barf.
That's why I mentinoned Kelly's class--it's been a sharp contrast to others' behavior tonight.

Thank goodness. I can't stand Kanye. He's been the star of the show tonight (rolling eyes) Every time I look at the TV, there he is.
Hey, the show's over--11:30. Kelly was the only bright spot for me :)
