for Tammy
I have good news and bad news :)
Good news: The Olympics starts next Friday (February 10). So there won't be any scheduling conflicts with Idol.
Bad news: Your other favorite show, The Biggest Loser, IS airing against Idol next Wednesday--a special two hour show
Decisions, decisions :)
Like someone said last night, I hope that guy and Crazy Dave are forced into the same group when they get to Hollywood. Hilarity will ensue :)
Fire up your pic-in-pic, see both on the screen and use the audio you most want to hear.
You sure did. :-)
I don't know if I can stomach watching the entire Grammy show. I never watch awards shows. I will set my DVD to record the show so I can skip past the stuff that bores me.
I can guarantee you the folks over at Kelly Clarkson Express will snatch both audio and video of Kelly's performance and, should she win an award, her acceptance speech. Those kids over there are great at that sort of thing. So I'll pass along the link(s). that way you can see it even if you miss her performance live.
The next single is one that her fans are disappointed with -- don't know the name of the song off the top of my head, but can find out for you. But it's not Wasted.
BTW, Jonny. In one of the two categories Kelly is nominated, Best Pop Vocal Album, she's up against Paul McCartney. There are fans who post on KCE literally from around the world. They are all on pins and needles about the Grammys. Me, I have so little faith in the entertainment industry that I don't expect anything. It's enough for now that she was nominated and is the first artist from AI to be invited to perform.
The only country music I can get into is the bluesy, almost folk songs of a Willie Nelson or a Hank Williams. And I also enjoy tunes that sound like 50's era rock and roll and 40's era boogie. That's about it.
So I'll pass along the link(s). that way you can see it even if you miss her performance live.
Thanks!

I agree with you about Kelly being nominated. That's a win in itself. Whether she gets the award or not doesn't matter to me.
Don't get me wrong, it would be great if she won, but I'm not holding my breath either. The awards are more about bragging rights than anything else. Kelly's already won where it counts--on the charts.
Me too! Ugh.
It's not that it's a bad song. It's just a downer.
"Wasted" would've been a better choice--probably the best choice. Great song. "Lessons Learned", "Starts With Goodbye" ... I would've picked any of these songs before "Don't Forget To Remember Me".
Unless I'm much mistaken, Carrie can sing the phone book and still do well sales wise. So I wouldn't worry too much which song is her next single. Besides, Country music is all about heartbreak.
You and I tend to think alike about these things. The Grammys, like the Oscars, are voted on by snobby industry types who are more interested in sending social and political messages than they are in rewarding excellence.
I don't need to watch the show to know the winners will be heavily dominated by R&B, hip-hop and rap. Blech!
That's why I don't listen to much of it :)
Carrie's CD is mostly upbeat, at least compared to "Don't Forget ...." I don't know why she or AI chose to release that particular tune when there are three or four others that are clearly better.
Wasted is a great one!
Okay, what kind of crack am I on that I thought they started Wednesday?? Maybe I got it confused with Biggest Loser?

LOL
I bought Keith Urban's most recent CD because I liked "Making Memories of Us." It turned out that's the only song I like on the album, which sucked, in my opinion. Total waste of money. From then on, I have downloaded music I want, one song at a time.
Supposedly, he's the best thing to come along in Country music since sliced bread, or something. That ain't saying much for Country music.
He's okay. Not one of my favorites, but Better Life is a good song. I don't like it enough to buy the cd.
It is EXCELLENT!! You must see it!
I guess I will. I didn't realize it was already out on DVD. :) That is how i prefer to watch them rather than at the theater. Alot of freepers liked it.
