They actually did it on one or two episodes. I forgot who they did but these were old school song writers and artists.

I recall they had 'guest' judges, but I do not recall all the contestants having to sing songs by that 'guest'.
To: who knows what evil?
Several posts on the 'Idol' site reference a story from the producer of 'Idol' (Nigel?) that we will be "shocked at one of the girls" who gets whacked tonight. Story may have been in LA Times, but no one has found it yet. Anyone else hear this?I think I did see it referenced on another website, but probably couldn't find the reference again.
There really are only three of the girls I'd be shocked about if they got bounced tonight: Katharine, Mandisa and Kellie. All of the others have simply not stepped up, in my opinion.

Yes, that is a different issue. Hey, for some singers, meeting someone like Stevie Wonder is a huge thing.

Taylor might look 40 with his gray hair...He's 29, but looks at least 10 years older, and not entirely due to his gray hair. He doesn't have a youthful face or body.

Ayla has done a good job on 2/3 of her songs. Last night wasn't great but the judges frown on them singing "old people" songs.
Lisa Tucker, Paris, Pickle, Kleenex and Melissa are your candidates.

Actually, add all the members of U2 except the drummer. Stones. All of them. And now you can't tell the live ones from the dead ones.

used to do that when I lived in CO and a few others still do it. I am in Denver -- For this and TAR I start at jonny's ping and slooooowly read the comments approximately real time.
When I make my unavoidable pithy comments, I make sure I include the post quote so people later in the thread know what or who the heck I am talking about.
It's a bit of work, but it is worth it. Outside of DUmmie FUnnies, AI is the funniest thread on FR (with TAR close).

Absolutely.
In all seriousness for a second (I know, a total rarity for me), that is what makes a fabulous showman. That you can forget that the singer, bass player, whoever is a total troll.
I saw U2 in concert during the Zoo TV tour in the early 90's. Bono filled the entire stadium with his charisma and sensuality. I was a huge U2 fan, but never thought of Bono as sexy until that night. And the next day I regained my senses, but during the show he was spellbinding.
Someone who is completely self-assured, loves what they are doing, and having a freakin' good time is undeniably attractive.

"When they showed the clip of Ace choosing which beanie he would carry in his back pocket it made me think of those signals that gay men use to try and pick up other men. They use hankies of different colors in their back pockets to signal what kind of guy they are looking for and what type of activity they prefer"I could never be gay.
Way too fussy.

I know. The people on this thread are witty and hilarious. It's great fun!
What is TAR? I'm a doofus, no idea.
