MG70 is an EXPERT!!!
Or Monster Mash?
RIGHT!
F'n VH1, what do they know about real ballads?
How about Charlie Daniels' Unesay Rider? Huh?
Vh1, what a bunch of hacks.
Awwww yeah....That's right... #1 for a reason!
:-D
Which is why she should be on my ping list!
I admire those who can play guitar! Another power ballad that comes to mind is Saigon Kick's "Love Is On The Way".
Man. Post 1990, I'm at a complete loss.
I like "Breaking the Chains" also.
Shoulda been closer to the top, IMHO.
Motley Crue's "Without You" also should have made the list.
Awesome tune!
We need RR's top 10!
That is a great one.
"Beth" is one of my favorites, too. (Meant to add that in my last post)
Aah, yes. Another good one. In fact the a while back on VH1 Classic I saw the super-cheesy video for that song! Also saw "Girlschool" by Britny Fox.
There are quite a few others I'd add to the list (although I don't realy know what they'd consider a "power ballad"--does it have to do with the band having to normally be a hard-rockin' one?) How about "Feel Like Makin' Love" by Bad Company or "When the Children Cry" by White Lion or "Bringin' on the Heartbreak" by Def Leppard or "Silent Lucidity" by Queensryche?
And for Christian Rock, it's gotta be Stryper "Honestly".
White Lion, Mr. Big
But you ARE such a troublemaker PA.
I remember the 80's when I lived in LA and a lot of rock and music was just dead and the metal/hair bands really had to work to get airplay or bookings.
I always groan and start looking for the exit when I see the metal bands reach for an acoustic guitar.
Look at all the 80's whackiness! He's sitting down, but there is no chair!
