It is a sweetener that your body does not absorb. So it is low in calories. But it does raise your blood sugar. (there is a reason for this that I can not recall off hand) So if you are diabetic or pre-diabetic (that would be me) you should not eat them. For some reason a lot of companies don't realize this and label their items sweetened with this stuff as "good for diabetics".

It is in almost all sugar-free stuff. If I eat it I get, (how shall I put this delicately?) the worse case of Montezuma revenge ever and my blood sugar goes up.

So if I am going to eat chocolate then currently I might as well have it with sugar. At least I just have a pounding head from that.

He just had a large walk past a bunch of kids who held and played with him. Then he came home for some restaurant food.

He's in dog heaven!

Ah! Thanks! I'll tell my neighbor. The meds he has to take have made him diabetic, so he was concerned about that stuff. I had never heard of it, so I was in the dark, too.

I eat sugar but I try to do it in moderation so my pancreas doesn't slap me around.

"Do you allow puns hear?"
Puns are not unheard of here. Extinct animals are unherd of, hear?

Um, but what about the heard-of plesiosaurs in the moat?

Uhm, er, I've herd that a good dose of slapsomemedicineonum mite cure that gross of pleniosaurs in the moat.

She still follows the dog around on walks and is staying close to the house.
I knocked the screens off a couple of areas of the house so the cat can access the yard without having to jump a fence.

She has a huge home under what was the old garage.

I have to remember to water her dry food these days.

It's good to see you again. ;o] As opposed to being like two ships passing in the night.

True, true. Sea, most captains prefer to being two ships passing in the night, as opposed to seeing two ships get too clothes to each other in the night.

"My neighbor was talking about "sugar alcohols" and neither of us know what sugar alcohol is or what it does. How odd..."

This seems informative ...

I actually envy you the trip. Not necessarily what you have to DO on it, but still ~~ I like to travel...

I used to hate to travel, but that's changed a bit. I hate the preparations still, but once on the way I'm fine.

The work on this trip shouldn't be too bad. A half-hour presentation at a conference, and I essentially have all the material already in various powerpoints over the past 5 years. It's a matter of re-ordering it for this occasion, updating it, and tweaking it for the audience.

Plus a series of customer calls where all I really have to do is to be friendly & open as well as the world-reknowned expert they've never heard of. Pizza cake. *\;-)

Hope they can understand my thick American English.

Agreed. With the legislative stuff behind me I should have some more time for FR. Except that my work situation is potentially shifting for more travel and speaking engagements. I'm not sure whether I like this or not.

How old is she? If you have to water her food, you might be doing her a favor by buying moist food for her. her teeth may be hurting her.
