You are right, he pulled the bandage from the right side of his face while looking in the mirror, and the left was not injured. Now he has all those abrasions on the left side. What is he some kind of Alien?

I thought that so I went back and I think it was because we were watching him in a mirror when he pulled the bandage off, so it came off his left side. We were seeing HIS perspective as he looked at himself in the mirror.
I don't know why the didn't have much better bandages on him though, burns shouldn't be left in the air like that, it should be killing him by now.
