So is The West Wing. And so is Commander in Chief.
Would you discard those shows so blithely as "fiction?"
And those don't even deal with viewpoints regarding terrorism. So ask yourself - do you not find a problem with a show about counterterrorism that has NOT ONCE presented a storyline where the terrorism is not solely from Islamists?
In a day and age when Islamist terror killed 3,000 Americans?
This is about a TV show...You are confusing reality with fiction..I am afraid you are preaching to the choir on Islamofacism..We are not being indoctrinated or brainwashed..
One hour on Monday night of pure entertainment..When it ceases to entertain me I will stop watching.
I'm done here.
I know.
And Brokeback Mountain is just a movie.
Apparently, you could care less about the underlying message as long as you are entertained.
But I remember that debate being during the primaries, not the general election. That would Keeler a Rat.
You obviously haven't seen the show, 'Sleeper Cell' on Showtime.
I haven't.
So therefore I can only comment on what I saw this season on 24 and last season and the season before that.
And I challenge ANY of the fans - has 24 EVER presented a terrorist threat as being just from Islamists?
--- crickets ---
But it's all in good fun because Jack gets to kneecap perps the way we think perps should be treated. Who cares if the storyline alters public perceptions of the enemy we face? As long as we are entertained!!!!!!!!
IBZT!
Just try to zot my ass.
I'm fat enough that it would take a whole new nuke being built to deep-fat-fry my arse.
I am with you on this one dirtboy...the point you are trying to make anyway(grin). Your point is valid and worthy of discussion. How many times have we seen hollywood undermine our country in the last 5 years?
If you call yourself a conservative or a republican, you should always look at hollywood with a sceptics eye. Dirtboy should be applauded for such..not ridiculed. Shame on you freepers that did such a thing. Just curious about his question(as a new 24 viewer)...was there ever a time when the enemy was ONLY ISLAMISTS on the show? Have they ever pinned the tale on the Islamic threat? or is there always a 'Western qualifier'....lol
You're nuts... Season 2's terrorists were Muslims, Season 4's terrorists were Muslim.... stop forcing the show into some kind of Myopic predictability where we should know who the bad guy is before it even starts. Right now, we don't even know what the final drama will be, this is just the first half of the day.
This was a fabulous episode.
Any other west coasters out there?
West coast here... just finishing up to find the thread is all pissed off about some perceived slight.
I thought that was a great episode. We had to stop and re-wind the whole scene where Jack came in the president's office and watch it again... Damn...
Heh.. Logan is such a pansy.
I was hoping to see eye balls roll.
(I was covering my eyes and peeking out from behind my fingers during that part) ;~D
My husband and I were high-fiving each other and chanting DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!
Heh...
Hey - everyone forgot to go let Mike Novick back out of whatever horse stall they put him in!
And the thing is, we ~know~ Jack would be willing to do it. So does Walt, evidently.
After all, this is a guy who'll walk into a CTU interrogation room, shoot a guy, and hacksaw the head off.
Yeah, can't wait til next week! Who do you think was behind the bed in the preview.
Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters
A good show tonight, not great. Jack didn't kill ANYBODY tonight. What's up with that? After only one last week?
To all those who are cluttering up the thread with an argument over the future of the world, or whatever it is, please I beg you to stop -- this is a thread about a TV SHOW, not the Heritage Foundation blog.
There wasn't enough on this show to make a list of 10 things to complain about. Sorry.
Did they give Chloe the night off?
