I just about choked on my chips when I saw her in bed with that dweeb guy.

Heh. My approximate stream of consciousness for that scene: "Hot blonde chick in bed with some guy...must be Kim and a new moron boyfriend. I bet she gets kidnapped now...wait a minute, that's not Kim...holy ****!"

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Jack Bauer's latest marathon workday got off to a good start Sunday, ratings-wise.

The Fox drama "24" notched its most-watched episode ever with its fifth-season premiere as the first of two back-to-back episodes got a boost from a primetime overrun (in East Coast and Midwestern markets) of the NFL's NFC divisional playoff game between the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears.

Airing from about 8:13-9:11 p.m. EST, the first episode of "24" averaged 17 million viewers and a 7.3 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic (demographic share data for Sunday were not available Monday because of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday), according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research. The second hour of "24," which ended at about 10:13 p.m. EST, held onto the majority of its lead-in to finish out with 15.5 million viewers and a 6.7 rating in adults 18-49.

According to Fox, Sunday's episodes marked the two most-watched installments of the Emmy-winning real-time drama series since the clock began ticking on "24" in fall 2001.

My husband is positive that no one told the president's mole who Jack's lady friend was although he told the terrorists. I didn't catch that did anyone else?"

I caught that too. I still don't know how he found out. It is probably a mole at CTU, undisclosed to us as yet.............It was the cop who herd her say that she had a message for CTU and that her son was inside. He then forwarded that info.

Aha! That's right. I recall thinking the cop was dirty, but it passed from my consciousness. Did they actually show the cop transmitting the info to Mr. Big?

BTW, I watched the first hour of 24 last night while riding on a spinning bike. Man, that's the best "music" to spin by. Forget all the music cds etc. The pace was so fast and absorbing that I got in a great 40 minute workout while watching 24. Just wanted to share that.

Logan is a guy who is very insecure, so he never knows what to do and listens to one or two other people, usually the wrong person. He then deliberately goes against other people, to "prove" his manhood.

Sounds a lot like Jimmy Carter doesn't it?

Yeah, it bothered me too that Palmer would have tried to contact a woman [fLOTUS, nonetheless] who was deemed to be nuts. Novick or Aaron would have been better conduits to the President--if that was all he was trying to do.

1 the Chief of Staff

Remember he lost faith in Mike Novak in season 3 because of him plotting against him. In season 4 they still had a tense relationship.

Palmer contacting Mike would make sense, but like you said, their relationship was tense.

Apparently, Palmer and Martha Logan had a much closer relationship and maybe he thought that would be the fastest route to the president.

RUSH COMPARES LOGAN TO JOHN KERRY

Caller: "I just had a little comment about 24. I think the ... president looks like a chinless Nixon."

Rush: "Well, maybe so. He might look like a chinless Nixon but that’s where the similarity ends ... [This] president is more like John Kerry. [He] is more like John Kerry would be or any other moderate who simply can’t make up his mind until he finds out what the smart people are gonna do. It was a classic illustration of what we would get if we elected one of these guys to be president."

I still don't like him. Hopefully after last night, they will quietly go away, but since they got sent back to CTU, you know they are either going to be kidnapped or killed.

As much as I love Jack Bauer (and Keefer Sutherland), I'm not liking the Chloe character. She has always bothered me for some reason.

************

Other than Bauer, Chloe is the best character on the show. My husband absolutely loves her.

The show last night was one of the best.

My question is where was the FLOTUS' assistant who seemed to always be with her when Walt drugged her?

If Jack was perfect and caught everyone like the YTG all the time there would be no show next week. LOL
