The "stare decisis" thing is vital to the lefties because it's the one and only thing that protects their sacred "right" to abortion. A piece of bad law must not be re-examined as long as it advances their agenda. If Roe were overturned, the various state legislatures would be required to do their jobs with input from their constituents and the pro-abortion folks know they'd lose.

In his role as an Appellate Judge, Alito has had little choice but to follow the lead and precedent of the Supreme Court, but once a part of the Supreme Court, he can play a significant role in altering existing precedents.

Yes, but they apparently can't grasp that concept because they are still attacking Alito on the issue even though he continues to comment on stare decisis. What is their major malfuntion besides the inability to comprehend this phrase. I believe the libs only agenda is to attempt to malign any person who calls themselves a conservative. This is a dysfunctional effort; but hey anything that diverts their focus from winning congressional seats right?
