Whoa! Geese are federally protected migratory birds and may only be killed during hunting season, with a license. I'm not at all sure about the details but shooting them in city limits with an airgun probably does not qualify.
You could wind up with a federal rap.
Yeah, I know it's stupid. I had nothing to do with writing that law.

How about alligators? Then after they get all fat, you make purses out of them.

If it's warm evough fot the geese to stay there all winter then it's warm enough for them to have some company.

Use a .22 cal pellet gun with flat point ammo. Get a pump, so you can adjust the actual hitting power. Many pump mfg's will spec how many ft/sec per pump. I'd say get a pump capable of 800-1000 fp/sec and try to maintain 300-400 fp/sec for your shots.
BTW, geese are hard to kill. I don't know if these hits will send them away.

I've had a similar problem a few times..here's what we did...you have to aggravate, and scare, the birds enough that they want to leave....they view dogs as nuisances....get some old sheets..and a few of you hold and spread them out and run at the birds..with lots of yelling...it really scares them..the size and the rapid, fluttering movement....you may have to stay at it for two days, and nights.. or so..but if the birds can't settle down to graze..they'll seek new surroundings..

Put up a tall temporary fabric fence between your lawn and the water.

Scare Gators?
I don't know where you could find some, but if you make your pond "look" like a gator breeding ground, I bet they won't land.

You could have some fun with a few inflateable gators and some string.
Not sure it would scare the geese away, but it would make some great video.

Agreed. I hunt geese with a 12 gage, using #2 and "B" 3" heavi-shot. They are tougher than they look. I doubt a pellet gun will do it. Try a border collie to chase them, or fig dressing to eat them.

Can some local lend you a more viscous (to geese that is) dog for the duration? Find their nests and pin prick the eggs to make them sterile. DO NOT LET THEM RAISE NEW GEESE THERE. For obvious reasons
