Pork rules (except for Muslims and Jews).

Love that pork with a goodly portion of fat marbling; so much of it nowdays is bred to be uber-lean, and not very tasty in my books; like turkey breast without basting.

A proper steak is a close second, preferably rib eye, with lots of marbling there too.

Many of my cousins raise hogs and beef, and when the time comes to butcher them out, they agree that the better the marbling, the better the meat.

Hope you had a lovely Christmas and thanks for keeping me in your posts.

Did you catch the 200th birthday special for Joseph Smith? We just caught the rebroadcast. It was marvelous.

Police say Tony Parker cited while driving with Eva Longoria

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker was cited for impeding traffic and failing to produce a valid Texas driver's license during a traffic stop in which "Desperate Housewives" actress Eva Longoria was his passenger, police said.

The incident happened about 12:45 a.m. Saturday. After seeing a car stopped, a bicycle officer said it was impeding traffic. When the car didn't move, the officer rapped the hood with the palm of his hand, according to a police report.

Parker, who was behind the wheel, questioned why the officer touched the car, and the couple "began screaming in a verbally abusive and demeaning manner," police said. Longoria called the police report "highly inaccurate."

Police say Parker then began to drive away, almost hitting a man standing nearby. After being told to stop and get out, Parker showed a French driver's license, police said.

The officer who wrote the citations said Parker complained: "This is all the cops do, just mess with people," and that Longoria shouted from the car: "He's just a Mexican bike cop. He only wants your autograph."

Longoria denied making the comment.

"It's a shame that one officer conducted himself in such an inappropriate and disorderly manner. I never made any sort of racial slurs, let alone made any comments about the officer being Mexican, as a Mexican myself," Longoria said through her publicist.

Here's a great Christmas story from our local paper:

Christmas baby makes surprise appearance

A thump early Christmas morning woke Hardy native Melissa Helms from her sleep.

The thump wasn't Santa and his reindeer traversing across her grandmother's roof to deliver Christmas presents to her two children, 3-year-old Makenzie and 11-month-old Alexis. No, this thump came from her third child — a child who wasn't supposed to be born until February.

Instead, Helms gave birth to 4-pound, 5-ounce Hope Renae at Baxter Regional Medical Center at 12:16 p.m. on Christmas day.

"I was asleep when I woke up somewhere between 3 and 4 and I was dilating," Helms told The Bulletinfrom her hospital bed Sunday. "Before I knew it, I was having a baby."

Fortunately for Helms, she, her daughters and husband, Jared, were spending Christmas Eve night at her grandmother's house in Henderson. Ironically, Helms' grandmother, 62-year-old Ann Barnes, is also a Christmas baby. "She's really thrilled about this," Helms said. "She's been calling all day."

Helms said she and her husband planned to have Hope delivered at Baxter Regional Medical Center. She said he was in the room for the birth. "I think it was easier than my other two," Helms said. She said her new baby is doing fine, even though Hope came seven weeks early. As of late in the afternoon, Hope was still receiving oxygen from a machine, but her mother said she would be taken off it within a few hours.

The hospital stay for mother and daughter should be short. Helms is scheduled to go home today, and Hope is slated to leave the hospital Tuesday.

Makenzie and Alexis will have to wait until their mother comes home to open their gifts, Helms said. She said the two will have to settle for opening presents from their grandparents.

"I want to be there when they open their presents," Helms said. Having her baby on Christmas day is the best present she's gotten in a while, Helms said.

How does it feel having the first Christmas baby at Baxter Regional Medical Center for 2005?

"It sounds kind of strange, but it took a while for it to click in that this is Christmas," Helms said. "But I'm glad my baby has the same birthday as my grandmother."

You know I have come to the conclusion that they have adulterated our food so much over the years just to make a buck!

Not all but enough have formed this cabal with with food, medicine causing one to go on low cal, low carb, low fat or whatever to accomdate the alterations!

Until process foods, and using the latest chemical someone discovered and how to get the consumer to use it, so they could profit from their useless artificial or contrived solution which serves no purpose to maintain health, as it does to extend shelf life!

The medical profession takes Natural herbs which they can't patten and make a synthetic which the body can not recognized.

As I watch the infomerical I see a war between Alterative Medicine vs Mother nature!

It really is going to get interesting!

No it is not played this far east, but I did get to hear the Christmas Program on PBS...

American mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade and Europe's pre-eminent baritone Bryn Terfel join the renowned Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square in this concert featuring sacred and secular holiday favorites, as well as seasonal songs from around the world. Musical highlights include "Joy to the World," "Hark the Herald Angels Sing," and other traditional carols. (Closed Captioning) (Stereo)

What a nice story. Such a coincidence to have two babies in one family born on Christmas Day. Makes you wonder..

He had already been publicly flogged on National TV the day before by another basketball team.

He had a bad couple of days I guess.

Nice pic of your son earlier.

My parents almost bought a house on the water near there. Nice spot, much sunnier than most of Washington I hear.

I just met my new neighbor while I was out putting up my new squirrel contraption. He's an evacuee from Gulfport that worked for the Port Authority. Nice guy. Single too.

Shhh....I'm trying to make Nully jealous.
