It did?
I'm so sorry.
Something better is ahead, you'll see.
*shrug* It's not a really problem. He simply wasn't able to create a position, and he did have the courtesy to let me know as soon as he knew for sure.
The classic recipe remains valid.
Hundreds of contacts.
Tens of interviews.
Units of offers.
= One job...
So.........you're good then?
Okay. :)
I'm disappointed, but not crushed. This would have been a one year temp gig at best.
Yes, about half my previous commute. The other deal sweetener was I might have been able to use their facility to do some consulting on the side. Never got a chance to even bring up that possibility.
Are the children any better? Hoping they are.
Had the second half of the job interview today.
Well, apparently the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.
I was told to fax them my discharge papers.
I did such.
They were supposed to call me if they didn't receive them.
Well, I wasn't called.
Today I discover that the discharge papers were nowhere in evidence.
So, career change denied apparently.
Would have been driving armored cars with Loomis Fargo.
Just like that?
That's not fair!
Not fair, but that's life.
Yes, they even went to school today (the better to spread germs)...
Typical.
grrrrrr...
Yeah.
Typical in my experience though.
On the bright side, life to too short to work for idiots...
I know.
*sigh*
I know.
Well, on the brighter side, the people I would have been working with were better than that.
*snort*
Oh well.
That's great!
(Not the spreading germs, of course!)
;o)
Yuppers.
Well, you see...
They didn't take you so , they don't get my vote of confidence.
