Good for you. But overly daring. He could easily have decided to kill you and you could have done nothing.
Were you riding to the right of the white line or to the left of it? I'm assuming by cycle commuting you mean you were on a road bike and not a motorcycle, yes?
No offense, but your pictures shows him clearly in the lane of traffic. The bike lane, if that is one seems to be unplowed. And that looks more like a minivan than SUV.
When was the last time you stopped at stop sign while on your bike?
Glad you're alive.
Isn't that some kind of "soccer mom" type of mini-van?
You should lend the police your camera. I'd like to see the look on his mug when they arrive and question him about the incident.
Mind you, the area here (Redmond WA) is pretty cyclist-friendly, outside of the newbie driver punks.
Well done. What is up with stuck on stupid and angry people in automobiles? It is everywhere. I leave my home as little as possible these days.
By posting the pics with a legible plate number,
accompanied by the allegation, you could be
subjecting yourself to unnecessary litigation
by the perp.
PhotoShop it now. Blur the numbers.
How do you pronounce "f'n"? |
I call them "reckless drivers"
Reminds me of the time I was on a surface street in my car. Traffic was backed up solid and we were stopped. A number of us were about 50 feet from making a right-hand turn onto another street, so we pulled over onto the shoulder to bypass the stopped cars. Some guy decides we're cheating or something and pulls out to the right a bit to block me. I thought he was another right-turner so I waited a bit. When he did nothing more, I just pulled out even further and snuck on by him, which really set him off. When I passed, he started shouting and shaking his fist. I paused there for a second and then said to the young lady he had sitting in the passenger seat, "You can do a lot better than him, miss." He didn't take it well. My fond hope is that it planted a seed in the young woman's thoughts and she ended up finding a less volatile boyfriend than that loser. Snicker.
I had a couple freak out on me in a parking lot last week. We were both in cars and came to a three-way stop in a busy shopping center lot. I was there first, so I went first and parked. The overweight couple in the car disagreed, and pulled up next to me as I was getting out of my car. They were were screaming curses and giving me the finger, but I just laughed at them. Just looking at the guy, I was pretty sure I could kick his a** if it came to it.
You always on the lookout for this kind of thing with a camera?
You were in the middle of the road..
You dialed 911 for this?
Is that Wilbraham Road?
It's the Yuletide season. It brings out the best in people. Take comfort in the knowledge said dirtball is stuck driving a MINIVAN.
The bigger the vehicle, the greater the sense of road 'entitlement' on the part of the driver.
Choose your battles wisely, Grasshopper . . .
I'd be pretty pissed off too if I had to drive a minivan. You think that Ithycus was already there when he bought it?
