AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1790) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 15, 2005 | All of Us

Posted on 12/15/2005 6:37:54 PM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good evening!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

There was strong voter turnout across Iraq in the Parliamentary elections there.

450,000 are without power in the south after an ice storm has moved through North Carolina, Virginia (fine where I am), and West Virginia.

And despite state law to the contrary, transit workers in New York city are preparing to go on strike tonight at midnight.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Find out who has her contact info, and have someone contact her.

Speaking thereof... we each need to update our trusted buddies with our current contact info.

My cell phone number is the same, but I don't answer unless I know the number, so leave a message. My address has changed, also.

I need to push that info out to my wingmen, here on ATRW (Jem, ML, and Kay have the latest info on me).

What a day today has been! When the ice melted enough for me to leave the house, I had a zillion (well, almost) errands to run. The very first one...to the bank...I did get there, but my car wouldn't start for me to leave.

A very accommodating building contractor jumped the battery for me...so I went by AutoZone and bought a NEW battery so I could finish my errands and not have the same problem again.

There, the clerk put it in for me...thank goodness, for I don't "do" batteries. LOL.

After I finished errand running, I came home, started up the washing machine, and .....the electricity went OFF. 2 days of ice and I had electricity, but when the sun is shining and the ice has melted, CM loses her electricity. Go figure.

Well, it's back on now, and I can fire up the computer.....My next address would have been The Home if it hadn't been restored!

Save me a space at "The Home", I'm right behind you.

And now, I'm leaving to take my oldest gd shopping. She is 8 and has more stamina than I do, but I'm carrying the plastic so I feel certain she'll wait for me.

Well, at least your sense of humor is still charged.

Sorry to hear you had all that happen in one day.

In the kitchen, we have a saying: "If in doubt, throw it out".

If you have a question, call her. Gut check. If you're worried, it's worth a call.

That's what wingmen are for.

Trust your gut.

I've been gone most of the day but Mr. Peach tells me that as of today the Gorelick Wall is back up. Is this correct?

What happened to the Patriot Act today; some Republicans weren't going to vote to extend it or something? This is making me cranky.

Crap. This really stinks. And when there's another attack, they'll blame the president. And they've completely tied his hands. As though they WANT another attack.

The Senators who voted to allow parts of the Patriot Act die...want to extend the Act for three months once it expires...Bush said no....kill it and live with your vote time to move on..

Bush is playing this right....let those who voted to kill it stand by their votes.

Those 4 Republicans better pray AQ doesn't hit us again in the states.

I was just pinged on another thread; the president is going to address the nation Sunday night (9:00 I think) to talk about the Iraq vote. Let's hope he mentions that as of 12/31, intelligence agencies can't talk to each other. Again.

Bob Novak is leaving CNN and coming to FNC. I'm not a big fan of his, but I can understand why he'd want to leave CNN.

700,000 lost power in the south due to the storm; glad you got your power back on. I've wondered if you would keep it as the weight of the ice brings down the flimsy pine trees.

We're facing a mix of rain, sleet, snow, and ice Saturday night and Sunday. I sure hope the weatherman is wrong. I can take rain or snow, but heavy sleet and ice are dangerous.

One poor man lying on his sofa and watching TV was killed/crushed when a tree fell on his house...practically slicing it in two. It happened about 20 miles from here.

I read about that fellow, CM. Horrible. I hadn't heard you were going to get more ice -- for two days! Do you have a gas fireplace in case you lose power?
