We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Iraq is said to be calm during elections, at least that is what is being carried on Drudge at this hour.
Meanwhile, in neighboring Iran, pronouncements by the President of that country have stirred strongly negative reactions in Europe, and certainly in Israel--the target of the commentary about being wiped off the Earth. Germany has recalled her diplomat, while President Bush has called the Islamic republic a "real threat". The Iranian President has also stated the Holocaust is nothing but a myth, and that Israel should be moved as far away as Alaska.
The contract between the MTA and the transit workers in the New York metropolitan area expires Friday, and workers are set to go on strike. New York mayor Bloomberg says such a strike would be "devastating."
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I understood the writer had his firmly placed in his cheek when he wrote that article. But you're right. "Torture" has been redefined. It is a lot like someone who has been the subject of some gossip (which may have been truthful) claiming that he knows what it feels like to be raped. What a wuss!

Definitely tongue in cheek. When I heard someone on FNC the other day mention what torture USED to mean, I realized I'd gotten so conditioned to the "new" definition and had forgotten what real torture was.
And McCain, who says that torture does not work, forgets that in his autobiography he admitted it worked on him.

I couldn't believe that Loudoun County closed their schools based on a "weather forecast"! My son, whose band concert this evening is being postponed, said this morning, "Dad, can we move back up to New Hampshire, where they know how to deal with Winter?!"
I am in agreement! It sounds like a 5-roller!

"Dad, can we move back up to New Hampshire, where they know how to deal with Winter?!"I can't imagine how astonished your son was when they canceled school last week due to an inch of snow.
The cab drivers in DC were cussing the weather like it was 2 ft of snow rather than an inch.
To: Iowa Granny
Granny, the problem is the damned lawyers. All school districts are terrified of litigation and the ACLU only makes it worse.

that's really neat! I've not much experience with horses but I've been told they are much like big dogs. Do you agree? HOB

Good Morning All. It's coool in central Texas.
I heard Ollie North earlier and he said there was a bit of a fuss, but things have calmed down. Isn't it wonderful, and the msm doesn't know how to word it so it sounds bad. I'm so happy for the Iraqis. What a fantastic life they have ahead of them.

GOOD A.M. TO YOU CHAIR, ALL, FROM THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST, USA, BRUISED BUT NOT BROKEN!!!!
70 mph winds here last night, no lost trees, no damage to the house, thankfully. It is going to get a little cold tonight and I have stacked lots of firewood in my wheel barrow, kept it dry last night so we will get us a fire going when we get home. e got plenty of firewood coming from the trees that were blown down during the hurricane.
Well, well, well, big turn out for voting in Iraq, lets see now, wasn't the doom and gloom dims saying it would be a disaster? Notice the mouth pieces of that group missing? Kerry, is he still around? Notice the old timers in the house on 'that side' has been quiet? They know how this game is played? We do have a few turncoats joining in on there ride, McLimp, his water boy Hagel, Graham, as far as I am concerned they are no better than Kerry, Byrd, the likes. Sad part of it is they will be re elected.
Gonna have a busy afternoon today, D is going to take me here, there, look at this, look at that, last minute shopping (for today anyhow). She is leaving now and asked me to go with her....going to get her hair done, no way am I going. She is coming back for me as the place she is going is not far from our house.
Found my burlap for curtains in my shack, looking at a careen door for the front now, get that piece of cotton, attach it to the screen and no flies will enter your house. works every time, course the door being shut all the time wouldn't have anything to do with it would it. We are going to get a new from door as it is solid and I want the kind that has little panes in it.
Guess I will make my bed being D won't, sheesh. Just stubborn, 100%
All have a good and safe day and just remember what this season is all about.
One thing I always do at Christmas, I wrap up one orange, one apple, one banana and place it under the tree for my deceased wife. When she was a little girl that is all she got for Christmas, they were as poor as sawdust and I have done this from the day we were married until this day and will continue until the day I die.
That ole chicken hawk is not out there this morning, I was there in case he showed up, I am keeping watch over were the chickens are feeding just in case. Toby

Of all the coverage I have seen on the voting in Iraq, the one just shown by Fox is so moving, you can see what our troops are all about, the people lined up in long lines just to vote.
To: Redleg Duke
They do this here in Mississippi when snow is expected. Ever see a guy driving a p/u in the snow with a can of beer in his hand? Just kidding, we just don't know how to drive in that stuff.

CNN actually did a good job with their coverage last night......Anderson Cooper was at a polling station and was talking with woman, a school teacher, who was working at the polling place. She spoke English quite well and it was obvious from her constant BIG smile that she was very happy & excited about what was happening. Even Christian Amanpour seemed impressed, although of course she couldn't resist getting in a few little digs here & there. But it was the first time I've been able to watch more than three seconds of her before changing the channel. And Cooper seemed downright in awe, and very respectful of our GREAT military and the sacrifices they have made to bring this day about.

Yesterday morning the prediction was for five to nine inches of snow. Only one (rural) school district cancelled classes. Everybody else went to school, although several districts closer 2 hours early. Green Bay schools remained opened, as usual. (We could be 10 minutes from Armageddon and Green Bay schools would remain in session.)
Everything is back to normal today except that it is so beautiful....it was a wet snow so all of the trees are coated, every branch, every little twig outlined in white. Gorgeous.

"

The key word is s-l-o-w-l-y.
But not too slowly. 'Cuz then you'll irritate the guy in back of you who will speed up and try to pass you and end up in a ditch.;^)
