Do what I do....watch Matlock or Walker Texas Ranger... I love it when bad guys lose.
Well, I am going to go take a shower. Hubby will be up in a few minutes and want breakfast. Back later.
Good morning.
Saw some of the President's interview with Hume last night. President was great, and Brit is the best. Heard part of the answer to Brit's question about the administration not responding to the Dem's trash talk. Did the President say anything else after he said he was hoping that post election, things would not be political or something like that? Was rushing to get ready to leave and didn't hear it all.
He said that he was ready to talk about it in September, but Katrina happened and no one wanted to talk about anything else. Then he had two foreign trips and couldn't talk about it overseas. He said that part of the thing is knowing when the time is to speak with effectiveness. He also said he has trouble "getting through the filter."
Thanks, Jane! Hope lots of clueless people saw that interview with Brit, but I suppose that didn't happen. They both seemed quite comfortable.
Good Morning. I'm struggling to wake up after 9 hours of sleep. I'll be back after the caffiene kicks in.
The icy rain is here now, but there's a promise that temps will rise to 34 during the day. I see from the lights outside that my porch and driveway have iced somewhat....no way will I be going out the door.
News on local TV is that some of the ramps off I-485 have closed and driving is somewhat hazardous on I-85. The interstate I-40 around Statesville (NW of me) has more ice...1/2 inch projected.
I let the doggies out per usual, but they wanted back into the warmth after a few minutes. Smart dogs.
To help them warm up and dry off, I turned on a radiant heater and they've settled down in front of it.
The really big news today is the election in Iraq. Cruising around the channels, I saw and heard Anderson Cooper (CNN), who IMO, is not quite ready for prime time. Unscripted, he sounds like some amateur who's imitating an inquiring reporter. My remote got an instant work-out.
Thank heavens you got lots of sleep. With your itinerary and hard work, you deserve some REST. Sorry that I left off your name in the post above....I need more caffeine too. Off to the coffee pot.....
Morning ALL
Again, busy around here.
I don't start my vacation till Thus of next week, so I have to fit some time to make cookies and clean for Xmas.
Dolly, how are you holding up sweetie? Toby has already stolen your heart I see.
Jem and Lysie, you both shall have Freepmail later this afternoon or tonite regarding that issue we spoke about earlier in the week.
Jane, go BACK TO BED...that has been part of my problem too. Tired as I am after these crazy full days, I still can't sleep.
Molly, my scarf has come in handy these past few single digit temp days. I even wear it around my neck at the office as it goes quite well with alot of my blouses and shirts.
((((((((((((((((((ALL))))))))))))))))))
So good to 'see' you, Neets!
R doing okay?
Mornin Toots.
R is doing just fine.
Needs to stop being lazy lately and help her brother get the house ready for Xmas.
Are you back home now?
Lindsey Graham and Joe Biden (in Iraq) being interviewed by Matt Lauer, who asks what if the Iraqis ask us to leave. Both saying we must have a political solution there w/the help of the international community.
Thanks Nita.. toby is a sweet dog. We will continue to get acquained. My intereaction with him has been minimal for the three months & not been strong before as Oliver was the dominant, overwhelming dog with mega personality. I am pretty sure Toby was heavily abused before Oliver found him & brought him home. Oliver was his mentor, if you will.
Just came back to computer briefly after doing some shoveling out in mom's room. (she likes to hoard nasty things under her bed & while she is sleeping I can grab em/toss em..
Have a good day dear & stay safe
I see there has been light violence in Iraq....the MSM is so disappointed.
I have to finish up my Christmas shopping today.... and I'm taking my dad.
Hi, sweetie! I just got up.
You must be so glad you can stay in, today of all days!
We're having a much more relaxing day today, but we do need to go out for a bit and I'm wearing my purple turtleneck. Darned little news I can find right now about the voting in Iraq.
The imams have been calling for voting all day all across the country. So many have been voting that a few polls have requested extra ballots. According to Ollie North reported on a bit of violence especially at the beginning. But basically there hasn't been much violence at all. PTL!
What an incredible, history making day. And it's barely being covered on the news; just the occasional mention.
Barely mentioned. Yet, when the history books are written President Bush will be given credit for bringing freedom and stability to the middle east. In contrast, the previous administration chased a legacy, always acting with that in view. Our current President acts according to principles and therefore he earns a great legacy. The difference is between a chaser and a leader.
I definitely agree about the history books. Just got pinged to a post that turnout in Mosul is 80%! In that region, that's an astounding percentage.
FNC graphic - Target has promised to bring more Christmas to the store. Sears uses "Christmas" and so does Lowes now.
