AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1786) [Remember the Trade Center!!}
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 11, 2005 | All of Us

Posted on 12/11/2005 5:08:13 PM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good evening!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

The Republican ad on cowardice in DemoncRAT ranks is starting to strike a nerve. Sen. Inouye, Ranking Minority Member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Subocmmittee is calling on President Bush to force the GOP to pull the ad, which features a white flag swinging across the screen in front of speaking DemoncRATS. Word to the GOP--the ad is working!

Why movie critics are out of touch with what most Americans want to see--Brokeback, a movie about a gay cowboy, is the critics choice for movies this year. It also explains why Hollywild is losing money.

Israel's Prime Minister has ordered that Nation's military to be prepared for strikes on suspected nuclear enrichment facilities in Iran by the end of March.

And Iraq will close off all of its borders during its upcoming Parliamentary elections.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Yes.

We had the small marbles...large marbles...cat's eye marbles...and steelies. The plain, small marbles had to hit the bigger marbles, steelies and cat eye's more times in order to get the bigger marble, steelie or cat eye marble.

My vote for the most ill informed quote in The 40 Most Obnoxious Quotes For 2005 is the one by Pat Buchanan.

Pat tries to make a case that taking Hitler out at a cost of 60 million people was an unnecessary action. He says that Hitler only attacked France after England and France declared war on Hitler. And Hitler having Eastern Europe was not worse than Stalin having eastern Europe.

Before reading this my vote for the dumbest media person ever, was William Shirer who covered Germany for CBS during the 1930s. In 1936 Shirer reported on a Hitler speech in which Hitler said his goal was to first conquer Europe for the Aryan race and subjugate all non Aryans, then conquer the rest of the world. All non Aryans were to be treated as chattel to only exist to serve the German master race.

Shirer in his report told his CBS audience what Hitler said. Then Shirer added that informed observers knew that Hitler was just playing to his base... The real question according to Shirer was what did Hitler really intend to do.

Shirer's informed observers always had a strange resemblance to the person Shirer saw in the mirror when he shaved.

The left wing press including Murrow in Brittan and Shirer in Berlin were always so surprised when Hitler did what he said he was going to do. Our media did not really paint Hitler as a bad guy, until he and Stalin split. Hitler and Stalin were both socialists and both had some support in the USA prior to Hitler attacking The Soviet Union.

Pat has never understood the differences in a regime based on ideology and one based on a personality. The Soviet Union was an ideological nation. The death of Lenin only gave us Stalin and Stalin's death only produced a successor which produced a successor.. etc.

But Hitler's Germany was build on one man's political power and ambition. After the war we found records of Hitler making decisions based on his expected life span. He was urged to delay WW-II until he had enough submarines to destroy the British and American shipping fleets. Hitlers reply was he could not wait that long. He did not expect a long life and he had to try to conquer the world while he still had enough years left in his lifespan to do it.

Buchanan's belief that Hitler could have been contained fails to understand that Germany after 1933 was Hitler while the Soviet Union was never Stalin. Each Soviet leader chose to wait until they had superiority and a sure victory before starting a war with us. Since they never achieved it before their own collapse containment made a lot of sense.

We out lasted the Soviets and won. Had Churchill not challenged Hitler, and declared war, Hitler would have been first with the atomic bomb and could have conquered the world.

Today's Democrats are unable to see the similarities between Saddam and Hitler. In fact you may recall that after Iraq fell a record of Saddam's admiration and intended emulation of Hitler was found and published.

Pat's main claim to fame was acting as a front man for Richard Nixon as Nixon toured the nation in 1965,66 and 67. That means Pat was good at booking flights, hotel rooms and calling cabs.

But I am always amazed that the media types are so attracted to dictators. Pehaps they are attracted to dictator's because the prime media goal is to dictate to the rest of us.

I wonder if I could have made a huge hit in the media by adding a new first name.

If I had only been bright enough to call myself ... Dick 'Tator

I still have my steelie and some of my cat's eyes. I have my BIG yellow shooter too. I won that one playing "mountain". We wore long stockings in those days,in the fall and winter, and boy did I get in trouble with the mud and grass marks on my knees and toes of my shoes.

Being a my dad's "son" (until my brother was born), I was something of a tomboy, went fishing and sqirrel hunting w/him and played marbles too...had a big collection of them, but since they "disappeared", I've always suspected my little brother took them for his own.

Seems I always had a scab on one or the other of my knees back then. When one healed up, invariably, I'd get one on the other knee. Once, when a gang of us were in the woods gathering mistletoe, I fell out of a tree and landed flat on my back. Was a little winded, but nothing was broken and I got right back up....with the mistletoe still in my hand!

I still have my Daisy air rifle (BB) which I got for Christmas when I was 10 yo. (My sister liked dolls. She's still single, and I was the one who married and had 5 children. Funny how things turn out.)

Greetings all. I am not going to be here most of the week. I will be housesitting/kid watching for one of my wingmen. No internet service at their house.

Ya'll play nice. I'll see you at least by the weekend.

There has been a lot of speculation as to why Arnold waited so long to rule on Tookie.

It now seems pretty clear to me. Arnold released his decision immediately after the 9th Circuit court refused to stay the execution. If the 9th circuit had stayed the execution Arnold's would have had no reason to rule. And no politician is going to make a controversial decision unless he has to do so. I know that any astute reporter could have determined what was going on by talking to a judge or a defense attorney not involved in this case.

Until the 9th ruled the ball was not really in Arnold's court of last resort. But the media pretended it was. Once the state supreme court and the 9th circuit had ruled against Tookie, it was in Arnold's court and he posted his decision promptly.

No one thinks the Federal Supreme court will stay the execution. The supremes have been tried by Tookie several times, to no avail. But the 9the circuit had in a previous ruling said that Tookie might merit clemency. So Arnold did not want to rule for executing Tookie and then in effect be overruled by the 9th circuit.

One of the things I used to do in cases like this was to go to another defense attorney or a judge and ask what was going on. Based on what they told me I could then do a story that had a very high probability of being correct. Often what a disinterested judge or defense attorney told me was at odds with what the defendant's council tried to feed me.

So many reporters today just talk to the defendant's attorneys and then print what they say. That type of reporting even in a case like this results in inaccurate reporting.

It has goten to be that some reporters think they can say or do anything they like and it is gospel.
