Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Speaking of allergies, mine have really been acting up the last couple of weeks. I think it's the warm temperatures along with the wet weather that have the molds going. It certainly can't be dust! :~D
To: ecurbh
Oh yeah, mold is another big problem, when it's been wet and warm for a while.

Mold bothers me too. Mold, dust, pollen of all types.
I need to take a roto-rooter to my nose.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Afrin? Helps me a bit.
Just don't use it too often or dependency becomes an issue.

Ooh no, can't use Afrin... the kickback when it wears off is worse than the original stuffiness. I use Ocean saline mist regularly, and occasionally Vicks Ultra-fine Mist when necessary. Oh, and Sudafed too.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Yeah, I know about the kickback. :-/
But it works so well when you're desperate for relief, the after-effects take a backseat at the moment.

The Vicks Ultra-fine Mist opens my nose right up, and no kickback! ;)

*taking note*
I'll have to give it a try this spring.
That's when things get ~awful~ for me.

Didja study?
Didja study?
Didja study?
I didn't quite get an hour in, but I at least read the first chapter verrrrry slowly. Tomorrow I'm going to re-read it more quickly and take notes / outline. Also start the next chapter if I have time. I figure if I give every chapter that treatment, I should get it into my noggin pretty well, and then I can study from my notes later on.

Ooh...just realized I got a rather nifty number...
To: RMDupree
Whew... quickest two hours on television! (Re: "24")
To: RosieCotton
Yes you did! I don't have a graphic for that one, though...
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Yessss. That was good. Tomorrow, more 24. :-)

One of those "distant" relatives you studiously avoid mentioning, by chance? On the wife's side.

One of these days I really need to see what the fuss is about! Lot of catching up to do, though.
The first two seasons are out on DVD, right?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Hey y'all, it was great to meet you both. Glad you could make it down, too bad we couldn't visit longer. The happy couple, along with the rest of the house guests have flown the coop at this point, it was a lovely weekend and now we must all sleep! :) Anyway, I promised to link to my Ireland pictures and suchlike, so here's the link:
http://gallery.novylen.net/empress
There's a ton of other stuff on there besides just Ireland, so enjoy! Most things are sorted into categories, although some of the more recent uploads are a bit jumbled still. Let me know if you have questions and I'd be more than happy to explain the pic contents. And yes, don't click on a 'patients' album if you are of weak stomach.
For that matter, check out www.constainia.net as well.

I think the first four seasons are on DVD... well worth renting!
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Works backwards and forwards and upside-down. Kewl.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
I'm about to start watching now. Had to tape it and then avoid the TV until it was over.
