Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I've come to really enjoy edamame; soy beans! They remind me a lot of lima beans, but they don't have that mushy creamy texture of limas. If you cook them in their shells, they're fun to eat by hand. You just kinda bite on the shell, then squeeze the beans out into your mouth! You can also buy them shelled, and cook them up fast. I get mine at Trader Joe's or Living Earth, which are both like Whole Foods.

Mmm...yeah, I've had those. Really like 'em. I've gotten the ones in the shells, and had them with a little soy sauce.

That's just so disheartening and a hassle to fix even with insurance.
A friend of my mom's had her car stolen.... worst thing about it was they recovered the car... trashed. They'd have been better off with it gone.

Ugh... There are plenty on the thread saying they don't think it was a canned hunt, but just judging by how the one guy seems to be coaching the shooters, I think they're wrong.
That's just not right.

I'm gonna have a sign on my gate saying the same thing as yours..."Trespassers will be shot and Eaten", except mine will include "with fava beans and a fine chianti".

I'm going to decorate it all up like those "Country Art" signs...with cows and flowers and such...like the yard signs that say "God Bless our Country Home."

If I ever get that bit of land, I will make two!
We don't even have a shotgun, my friend...and those guys were right outside out front window. It made Steve just sick, knowing they were outside, in our cars, not 25 feet from his head.
We're afraid home invasions are next, that they'll get bolder.

Is there a such thing as rent-a-hawk?
To: Overtaxed
On their own schedule I guess ;~D
I've watched a hawk pick little birds off my feeder a couple times. It's a lot of drama.
