I think my favorite Lewis book is The Screwtape Letters with the essay Screwtape Proposes a Toast appended. I see so many of my besetting sins in there. Also, Lewis makes a great point about false humility and of being proud about how humble one is! LOL! I have found particularly helpful the idea of a thing not being "good" or "bad" by itself but whether it moves one closer or farther away from God. Now, somethings are good or bad (murder is bad), but other things are kinda gray (should I spend time reading this book or that book?).

The "being proud of being humble" thing struck me, too! And it so perfectly describes the way Satan works on one's mind.

I like The Screwtape Letters very much.

I need to re-read that, along with Mere Christianity. I spend too much of my time reading junk, lately, or messing about on the computer. You have reminded me to take a fresh look at how I spend my time. Thanks!
