We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Well, climate change must be real after all. Heck, UOx42 said so at the Montreal conference on the subject, so it must be.
The GOP has launched ads where DemoncRATS, such as Howard Dean, are making anti-war remarks while having a white flag from time to time wave in front of their faces. Way cool!
Scientists have learned the Earth's north magnetic pole is moving rapidly from its spot and will likely move into Siberia in the next 50 years. (Obviously George Bush's fault.)
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I am fairly sure I have never had a migraine. I used to get terrible headaches & at that time did the research & realized what a terror they were for the "victims". I have since realized mine were somehow hormone related.. although not relegated to any time of month. the passing of menopause was a blessing in many respects.. those headaches are no more. But just the sinus/allergy.. which are annoying & painful, but very minor in significance.
I am so glad you caught it Jemian. I recall your posts where you didn't & suffered for days.
hugs hon

I never was the literary giant growing up either NY... rather play outside & climb trees..
getting lazy so just hunted up & resposting a link from yesterday's finest..
@
... after church is also on Sunday after services having a lunch & movie outing to see The Chronicles of Marnia - The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
I know a lot of you are not movie fans.. BUT if you are Christian I would like to recommend TWO movies.. this one & one to see prior via video/CD. - SHADOWLANDS
CS Lewis wrote the children's book Chronicles.. His love story is depicted in the movie from a few years back titled, "Shadowlands".. His love interest/wife son (his stepson) is the person who produces the movie now coming out Chronicles.
Hopkins plays British Christian apologist CS Lewis & Debra Winger plays the American Jewish woman who captures this long time bachelor's heart. I guarantee you "gone with the wind" movie fans, you will LOVE this movie. Side note..FReeper Tweety in Ohio's (my niece) hubby is the first cousin of Debra Winger
From the beginning, C.S. Lewis had wanted the experience of Narnia's wonders to be open to people of all backgrounds and ages. Explains the film's co-producer, Lewis' stepson Douglas Gresham, who grew up knowing Lewis and his writing intimately: "C.S. Lewis' mandate, his main idea about writing for children, included the theory that if a book is worth reading when you're five, it is still equally worth reading when you're 50. So The Chronicles of Narnia was intended to be read to children and by children and also to be read by adults with great joy even to the last days of their lives."

I take a TON of supplements Carolina..High on the Bs esp.... and I know a lot of people make fun of me/others being vegetarians but a side benefit is more energy. Truly. It takes a lot of BTUs to digest animal protein & we have that extra energy available for other things , primarily the immune system.

I like both meat and vegetables (even Brussel sprouts!), but I draw the line at liver and what a friend of mine (Home Ec. major) fed her family....tongue sandwiches. (Black marker double line on that one.)
To: Carolinamom
yuk. even when I ate meat years ago, it was the pretty traditional/non weird types. ham, chicken, steak, ... brain, tongue, lliver, kidneys.. well, no thanks. dog/cat food okay.

My wife and I went to see Shadowlands when it came out.
We both enjoyed in very much.
Oddly enough, I had just started a tradition in our young household of listening to the Festival of 9 Carols, held at Cambridge College, Christmas Eve, and carried live by our State station every Christmas Eve morning.
We still tune in and eagerly await for the choir to start in with, Once in Royal David's City.
It was featured in the film.

LOL! Good morning, DC! My weekend plans are to stay in as much as possible. There is still a lot of ice and s$!! on the bike paths and sidewalks. It's only going to be in the 40's. I will be going to my local weekend hangout tonight which is a "Cheers" bar, (yes, everyone knows my name) with a live band. My name there is Rocket Man! I even have my own mug there with that name on it. Here's their website: http://www.patricksnightclub.com/
The bartenders have been there for years and one of them has a husband in the Air National Guard that was recently deployed to Iraq. I email him occasionally.

What a nice tradition! I have never heard that service, but I think I will look and see if it is carried on our public radio here.

GOOD A.M. HONORABLE CHAIR, ALL, FROM THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST, USA, BRUISED BUT NOT BROKEN!!!!
Seems like one day the politicians will learn that a person who shows his self-importance equals arrogance. I doubt it, two stuck on themselves. Didn't their momma ever teach them that they could outrun a man but they couldn't outrun their reputation? Could be they don't care.
Little ole me is going to be stuck here all by myself today, oh how will I exist, D taking in laws out to look for property and a house, trailer, anything. They too lost everything in the storm but one thing about them, they never complain. Oh goodness what s difference in what we have been having. Sure, they invited me but ain't no way I want to drive all over the county looking at houses, etc, rather stay here and listen to Rush, watch Fox, all at the dame time ya know.
We age getting one heck of a north wind here, cold north wind. My chickens are not being hindered at all in laying their eggs, averaging 10 a day, neighbors getting to love me for sure.
Dean, what can you say, just dumb, the best weapon pubs have and don't you love it when a elected senator, etc, say they voted for the war in Iraq but didn't vote for it? Down here we call that 'double talk'.
D, SIL just got up, will visit with them before it gets hectic here. Stay warm, stay well, stay happy and SMILE!!!

sounds great. glad you liked Shadowlands. Not critically acclaimed, as are many Christian related movies.. although this was defin more of a love story, in every sense of the word.
okay, I know this isn't you & Mrs. NY.. but ... just for fun :

The husband and wife go to a counselor after 15 years of marriage.
The counselor asks them what the problem is and the wife goes into a tirade, listing every problem they have ever had in the 15 years they've been married. She goes on and on and on.
Finally, the counselor gets up, goes around the desk, embraces the woman and kisses her passionately. The woman shuts up and sits quietly in a daze.
The counselor turns to the husband and says "That is what your wife needs at least three times a week. Can you do that?"
The husband thinks for a moment and replies, "Well, I can get her here Monday and Wednesday, but Friday I golf."

I can remember as a wee little tot my mother would fix brains and eggs, would I eat that today, don't' think so.

It's wonderful, and starts promptly at 9:00 AM (CST) Christmas Eve.
Good Morning!
To: Carolinamom
LOL! When I was growing up, my mom and dad always split a whole beef with my uncle and his family. My dad always wanted the "variety meats" as they used to be termed in home ec classes years ago.
I bet you've never been served baked heart with dressing! And my mother DID serve tongue..yikes! She didn't even slice it before serving it...there that big old tongue was, taste buds and all!
That was when my ten-year old brother blew a gasket and yelled "All we ever have to eat in this house is turkey tongues and eyeballs!" He then got on his bike and rode to the dairy queen in town to get a cheeseburger, bought with his allowance money. HA!

Good morning Dawn Patrol and everybody. Raven, sorry to read about your eye, hope it's much better today. Prayers for all who are fighting sicknesses and for who need them.
We will be changing locations today, heading for the RG Valley where we will stay for the winter. Hope to be back on line later today.
I printed out Podhoretz's article to read during the drive down, it's 14 pages printed in MS Word. Looks to be pretty good.
And I got our Christmas cards done. Sigh of relief....
Now just to finish up the gift and gifting part and decide what to serve on Christmas day, purchase food, pick up daughter when she arrives and I think we'll be set.
Have a great Saturday everybody.

Having a favorite watering hole & circle of friends there is fun. How good of you to be in contact with the hubby of the bartender.
Most of mine are restaurant related & I go with dates. (like Chili's... love their food & Preidente's), Pinani's or some local mom & pop ethnic places.

"All we ever have to eat in this house is turkey tongues and eyeballs!"LOL! Liver was as much of a variety that my parents ever tried to serve us, thank goodness. And neither my brother nor I would even eat that. (We honestly weren't picky eaters, but we drew the line with liver.)
