Grandkids are little angels. The almost 3 year old has a sinus infection and the 18 month old has a double ear infection, but they did well here. They took their medicine without a fight and are sleeping soundly.......for another couple of hours, I hope. Their parents will pick them up after breakfast.
Hubby and I are sucking down Airborne and ramming the Zicam up our noses. We really don't want to catch their cooties.

So far I have never used those two. I bought Airborne just in case. Next, I need to get Zicam.

Good morning, Toby!
It's official: CM has isn't "all there". Getting up at 3:30am yesterday made me quite weary late in the day, so I thought I'd watch the nightly news in a horizontal position. Blackoutsville.
When I awoke refreshed, I let the dogs outside per usual, got a cup of coffee, and logged on to FR per usual......only to discover that it was still FRIDAY!
Later, when I went back to bed and more sleep, the phone rang and rang, splitting the silence...at 4am...made mad dash to get the call but nobody was there. So here I am again at FR (w/coffee), but it IS Saturday....isn't it?
To: Carolinamom; The Raven
LOL!
Yes, it is Saturday, Cmom. You are too funny!
Wow. That Podhoritz article goes into a lot of detail. It's a good one to save for historical perspective. He's right on it, isn't he!?

Good morning, LBKQ. Sure hope your little grandchildren recover soon and that you and your hubby don't "catch" anything. It is not good to be sick at any time, but especially it's not good to be sick at this time of the year.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that nothing unforeseen happens here.
You are so right about that Podhoritz (sp?) article. It deserves to be bumped repeatedly. Long read but well worth it.

Good morning, Rav and all. Bummer about your eye, Rav. Betting that it will feel better soon as it heals.

Good morning, 2/3s! I'm announcing the news right now that it's SATURDAY. (For my reason for announcing what everyone else already knows, see my post #43.)

It's 19 degrees outside but there's a predicted high for today of 53. This yo-yoing is getting old...very old. I have 2 large bay windows facing south, and the sun heated up that room so much yesterday that I had to turn on the ceiling fan to distribute the excessive heat throughout the house.

morning FRiends.. following your stories of MIL's , sore eyes, cold/illness "watch" etc.
Not sure if I will stay up or try to sleep some more. I have been going to bed way to early & then am up with the Ravens.. (more or less)..
Movie decision tonight .. thinking it will be Syriana.. (seeing Chronicles tomorrow afternoon with group from church). did anyone see either yet?
Jemian, I hope you caught your headache early enough.. sheesh..
Molly, hope the performance went well. I saw you were doing it but already had a church function that I was involved with last night & so did not contact you. Are you doing any more performances? I would like to hear you.
Utah Girl.. all caught up on the rest? for me with long trips, a few days later I really get "hit".. fatigue & then any little "bug" I picked up seems to bloom forth .

I have missed living in the Carolinas for YEARS.. but golly this time of year particularly. Right now the yo - yo (that I too moaned about) sounds very good. Our "yo" is down & will just stay there unfortunately.

hey, I missed you 2/3.. any great weekend plans? A swinging bachelor like you should have a long list of things to do.. well, hey, we also have Radix, Dog, the Raven, Bitwhacker etc.. with also full social "dance cards".. right? don't know everyone's marital status.
Golly keying is getting tougher. The cats realized I am at computer. Cali on lap, Darkness(blind kitty) on keyboard, BF(black & fuzzy) on monitor, and Tiwnkie playing tree with me(don't ask)

You are a regular Energizer Bunny, Dolly! I marvel at the variety and extraordinary things that you do. I sometimes take vitamin B-12 to boost my energy, but you must have it built in. LOL

My eyes were wide open at 2 this morning, still have not been back to sleep. I will catch a couple of winks later on, D taking SIL's mother and daddy to look for housing, they want OUT of La, according to them, none are moving back into their old neighborhood, it was flooded total. And, don't get them started on the state and local governments there, they have no love whatsoever for them and they have lived there forever.
To: DollyCali
I appear to have caught it in time. It started at the back, behind the head and covered both sides. My migraines are usually on one side or the other and involve the eyes. Whichever it was, it seems to be gone now.

Can't say that I blame the in-laws for not going back to LA...Let Nagin and Blanco beg and beg to no avail.
I've found the cure to insomnia is not to fret but to read awhile and sleepiness creeps up on you. Paperback books are better for reading in bed. BRAZIL is so thick and heavy that I have to sit up for reading it!
To: The Raven
Sorry to hear.
Get well, my friend.
Reading a review of the Lion, witch, and the Wardrobe last night, I laughed at the sentence that stated the following: Fantasy fans and Churchgoers, groups not usually known for being on the same wavelength....
Why is it that those who attend church regularly are usually depicted as grim, humorless people?
I beg to differ.
Anyway, good morning!

Syriana.. Going to see?
Morning Dolly.
I am a little suspect of Syriana. I am afraid they are going to try and make oil companies the evil ones in the movie, and are responsible for the terrorism. But having you see it might confirm or deny that suspicion.
As is, Good Morning.
Just finished reading The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe. (Haven't read it since my college days.) While most intelligent kids were reading these classics, I was still in the Archie and Jughead "novels".
