We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor teh brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
WINTER STORM WATCH FOR THE NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION, VIRGINIA BLUE RIDGE AND APPALACHIAN MAIN SPINE, ALL OF WEST VIRGINIA, PENNSYLVANIA AND NEW JERSEY, THE SOUTHERN TEIR OF NEW YORK INCLUDING WESTCHESTER, PUTNUM, ORANGE, AND ROCKLAND COUNTIES AS WELL AS NEW YORK CITY AND LONG ISLAND, ALL OF CONNECTICUT AND THE EASTERN HALF OF OHIO
Storm Track [NEW FEATURE]:
Discussion:
A weak mid-level LP system over the Ohio valley will move NEward over the next 24 hours and light off lake effect snows. This same system will cause cyclogenesis of a low=level LP system off of C. Hatteras--the breeding ground for nor'easters.
This system is expected to undergo explosive deepening and likely bomb out as it proceeds northeastward toward the open waters off New England.
That said, it is likely to be a fast mover, which will keep down snowfall. Unfortunately, dendrectic effects (moist air hitting blasts of cold causing precipitive fallout) are likely to be significant, and the rapidly decreaing pressure gradient will also contribute by forcing banding. The latter effect makes snowfall estimates difficult, but there is a 0.7" column of precipitable water available to the system. Some compensation needs to be given for the warm ground, so a meltdown ratio of 8:1 will be used. Total expected drop in northern Virginia near the Capital is 6 inches--check the bathrooms, you need three rolls.
In the news...
Well, as he threatened, Saddam didn't show up for his trial today. The trial went on anyway, at least for awhile. The judge has ordered a continuence until after Parliamentary elections in a week.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Thanks Peach! Good article!
Seems there is a shoe bomber on the loose.
Good morning.
33 degrees here and chance of rain.
Morning. Hope it stays warm enough that the rain doesn't turn to ice. A good snowstorm is fun but ice scares me.
19 degrees here....and snow on the way.
Oops - they tested his shoes five times which tested positive. Without my contact lens in, I read that they kept him for five days. Off to find my old glasses.
Local news did a report on how relaxed airport security is in the Houston area. Basically from what we saw, there is little security at both airports.
Hope that shoe bomber doesn't want to go to Chicago today!
Back to ice and snow. Wouldn't go if grandbabies weren't there.
LOL! Did anyone hear Bryan Kilmeade start in on a rant about the names of Chinese restaurants? I love it when he goes off on a tangent like that!
Wow, Mary is flogging her book this early in the morning? I wonder what it's rank is on Amazon right now...
1 degree here... heat wave.
My wife bought me a membership at our local health spa, that she belongs to, for the month of December.
Boy... in just a few days I can feel the difference.
Are we actually gonna get snow .. or will it be another dud like on Tuesday?
And the answer is...ranked #7208 in sales! Bwahahahaha!!!
We are thinking about getting a 'family' pass to a gym for a Christmas present to the family. I am so out of shape.
My shoulders hurt from beating frosting yesterday. How sad is that? Pain kept me awake until after midnight last night.
Good morning, kassie! -1 degrees. Leaving now. Driving today.
Brrrr. Glad to hear you are driving. Stay safe.
LOL!!
Just received this in an email. It's a great stress releaser. http://www.elfmovie.com/swf/snowball_fight/index.html
