You are so right, Toby. Like you, I remember that Pearl Harbor attack. This old gal also remembers how the American people were united against the enemy and supportive of our president (even though he was a Democrat).
Hollywood "stars" helped raise morale by entertaining the troops, letting them know that we were all behind them. These same stars sold war bonds to support our country's defense.
(Nowadays, they hold fund raisers for the DNC to defeat our President Bush's efforts to unite the country, and their "cut and run" clamor is not lost on the enemy. Thus they are helping our enemy, not our country. The Code Pink women are even sending the enemy $$$$..600,000 dollars.)
Newspapers back then reported the truth about our military heroes. Radio and newspapers were our way back then of getting the news. Even as a kid, I always stayed for the news shorts at the movies. There was patriotism in the very air we breathed.
The current crop of "journalists" are not doing their job....to inform us of ALL of the news.
Newspapers are losing their readership and laying off "workers"....and they don't seem to have a clue as to the reason.
CNN and MSNBC ratings are DOWN and they don't seem to realize that the American people are dissatisfied w/their coverage of the news as well.
I do not grieve for financial losses of this 5th column in our midst. They have become our enemy as much as the terrorists imo.
Well said, Cmom!!!! ........My feelings exactly.
We are at a whopping 0, that's zero, degrees.
Supposed to warm up to 20 though.
Whoa! Great rant.
Layoffs at the papers means only one thing, fewer readers. They STILL can't get the picture.
CM, who are these Code Pink women. This is the first time I've heard that term. It is the hollywierd bunch of women?
