I usually don't add cabbage, because I like to keep it simmering all day, and cabbage seems to get pretty strong.
Beef, carrots, potatoes, peas, corn, green beans, and onions. Large can of crushed tomatoes. Paprika also.
I am probably going to make a vegetarian version since I think our daughter will be coming over for supper. I will add some extra spices to give it a bit more of a kick, and serve a hot bread with it.

I do the same, I have a leftover pot, always have beef broth handy, I'll brown the meat, allow it to cook for whatever length of time, then add fresh or leftovers to the pot, plus seasonings, etc. Always good with cornbread.
