I like country. I have never liked Elton John, though he is a talented guy?. but Bon Jovi??????????? Those morons were just as bad as the Dixied Chicks.
Hell, they should have invited Bruce Willis and his band. They may suck but at least it would be a slice of Americana.

Well? Predictions anybody? I have to admit that I'm not a huge Country Music fan, but from little exposure I've had, I hope Gretchen Wilson's "Redneck Woman" wins in it's category.
Also, Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dying" is up for Album of the Year. I don't know about that, but that title song is VERY good and should've been nominated separately (if it wasn't).

but Bon Jovi??????????? Those morons were just as bad as the Dixied Chicks.UGH... Around October of last year, Bon Jovi made a campaign stop in Raleigh, NC to pimp for John Edwards. VOMIT! Bon Jovi told the story of how Edwards' parents were just "poor mill workers". Shut-up and sing!

I have to admit, I don't know all the nominated songs. Does anybody know if "Alcohol" is the duet with Alison Krause? "She put the bottle to her head and pulled the trigger..." Or is that "Whiskey Lullaby"?
It's a sad song, but very haunting, very cool.
"Live Like You Were Dying" is a good song, too. Since I think there is an unofficial CMA rule that Tim McGraw or Faith Hill have to win something, I think you're right, that song will win.
Sugarland's CD is pretty freakin' good. I just bought it. Toe-tappingly-good throughout.

"Live Like You Were Dying" got song or single of the year last year. This year it's the entire album up for an award. "Whisky Lulliby" got video of the year last year (Krauss and Paisley).

YIKES!
(BTW, while I was Googling for Joan Rivers photos, I saw a lot of pics of drag queens pretending to be Joan--some looked just like her :)

Elton John is supposed to sing with Dolly Parton. I wish I could see it, but I will miss the show.

Thanks for the info.
Weird that the songs and the albums get split up like that...they must have released the CDs at the end of last year.

I'm going to buy myself one for Christmas.
Doesn't help us now though. :(

Sometimes the singles get released a good bit before the album is released. Advanced publicity and all :)
