Lets start a BQ lobby group.
;-)
There's only one person we would need to convince -- John Robinson. I don't know how difficult it would be to implement, but with all that he has on his plate, I hate to bother him with such a trivial complaint.
Besides, I don't like to call attention to the Undead Thread. In this regard, I am the soul of trepidity.
Let sleeping dogs lie, and all that.
I just meant an HTML movement in general.
If we all changed the command to bq, it would be no different than b for bold.
FR is incredible, but I don't expect the Robinsons to fix the internet. lol.
Have a good night.
:-)

The December Chronicles Ping! FReepmail sionnsar if you want on or off the ping list. This is a low volume ping list (every few days). Read: The November Chronicles |
You may or may not know that a regime change in Iran is fairly high on my list for several reasons, including my lovely bride's love for the country and its people, stemming from the time she lived there -- she speaks Farsi and this has opened many a door for the both of us among Iranians here, and I find them a warm and welcoming people (who, by all reports here and elsewhere, love *Americans* -- but that is a longer story).
"Iran Azadi," which you see in my tagline, is Persian for "(A) Free Iran." I am invested enough in this (I've had many Iranian friends over the years) that last year I tried to hook up with a rally on the Capitol Steps. Failures in DC's mass transit system managed to make me quite late, so the following cellphone picture of me alone, holding a "Sun & Lion" flag (the flag of free Iran, not of the mullahs' Iran, which I brought from Seattle), is all I have of the occasion.
That's the background.
There is a FReeper who runs a blog "Regime Change Iran" that is a finalist in a vote for Weblog Awards. Generally I ignore such "awards." But the attention this one would bring to such a critical situation, as opposed to, say, "Timbuktu Chronicles," is too important to this country and the world situation to be ignored.
Plkease click through and vote.

Done.
Done.
Good Luck to you and your friend!
I, too, agree that Iran is deserving of the attention, not only of the United States, but also of a just and loving God.
Many, especially here on FR, speak harshly and comdemningly of the situation in Iran. Before the fall of the Sha, our perception was quite different. We perceived Iran then to be quite advanced and modern in its thinking.
The rise to power of the Iatollah was a disaster unmatched by any in the long history of that country. It propelled them backward into medieval thinking and power struggles, showed weakness and confusion which allowed the Soviet Union to attempt a land grab in Afghanistan, and permitted a complacent world to be indifferent to the immense carnage of the Iran/Iraq war.
"A plague on both your houses," seemed to be the reaction. Yet consider what could have been:
If Iran had continued to modernize, and seek good relations with the West, her conflict with Iraq might have been somewhat forestalled, foreshortened, or have foreclosed the reign of power of that dictatorial madman Saddam.
It might also have prevented the chain of events that brought the Taliban to power in Afghanistan.
Iran is a vital country in that part of the world. Hopefully, its rise to the fresh air and sunshine of Liberty and Freedom will not be constrained forever.
Hi Doc. I'm feeling better.
Hi everyone.
Looks like the thread was busy tonight.
I'm glad you're feeling better. Kudos. ;)
Hola. Glad to see that you are recovering nicely.
More or less busy.
Got sidetracked somewhat.
"Physician, heal thyself" never sounded like particularly good advice, anyway, at least not for Medical complaints.
The antibiotics seem to be doing the trick, then. Don't forget the yogurt!
I think I was supposed to get pinged too. ;-)
Actually, I forgot the yogurt.
Sometime soon, you will want to work at replenishing the healthful biota that colonize you.
This may sound somewhat unpleasant, but it is better to pick your residents while you have the opportunity, than to let such creatures pick you.
You can pick up some anytime you wish. After all, you are still in the eviction stage.
I'll try to remember to get some at the store tomorrow.
