I call a spade a spade. They were Gypsies before PC became the buzz-word, and they will be Gypsies until hell freezes over.

Just like I say, "MERRY CHRISTMAS!" instead of "Happy Holidays."

The Gypsies, though similar, are a different group, in fact an ethnic group in themselves - the Tinkers are indigenously Irish, and despite claims to the contrary, are not ethically different from other Irish.

BTW, the PC crew now refer to the Gypsies as 'Romany' - something to do with the fact they are of Romanian origin.

Here in America, we have gypsies and travellers. Travellers are almost exclusively of irish extraction; gypsies are of central european descent.
